I don’t know how much time you’ve spent in Verdant Brink, but there’s a lot of Wyverns flying around and they’re mean.

Long enough to know that while wyverns are indeed a plague in Verdant Brink, they never visit that particular camp, EVER. Arguments could be made that it’s because of the flamethrower acting as a deterrent, but that begs the question: Where were they before the camp got set up? And why do they still hang around camps that has a flamethrower?
Answer: Because they spawn at set locations.
Even then, the thumper’s placement is the biggest offender. It is the frontline turret, yet is placed as far away in the back of the camp as possible to… Take care of the enemies that go for it after they’re done raiding the camp?

you should go to fort trinity, they have these huge cannons aimed at each other

Well, obviously. If you have the cannons fire at one-another, you’ll never run out of ammo and you’ll instantly reload the other cannon in the process! It’s efficiency at it’s finest.
Tried and true. Just look at this fine example:

The same mastermind who engineered and brought this concept to vision, provided us with another very helpful technique when it comes to firearm handling:

I dunno, their plan to fight Morde was pretty fool proof: “The whole jungle (not counting all the bits that have spread all over Tyria) is a dragon so let’s hover right above the tree tops and shoot the ground with our generic cannons. What? Incendiary shells? Napalm? Who needs that stuff?”

OP is correct in the fact that the Pact isn’t the most efficient war machine. And with a certain person being made marshall… it doesn’t look to get any better.
Mordemoth could have been handled in better ways. One is to turn the Charr loose with flame-throwers and let them go. Another would be to let the Asura create some kind of bio-magical agent orange and defoliate the jungle, leaving Mordremoth standing there naked, covering his dangly bits with a few leaves.
Another way; and my favorite would be to capture Risen (Orr was a nation filled with a LOT of people, the Pact didn’t wipe them all out.) Then air drop them into the jungle. It’s a known fact that dragon minions fight each other and we could have watched the biggest match of plants vs zombies ever.
Still the Pact could have air dropped Karka into the jungle and let them roll around for a few years and flatten the place.

to be honest, I was confused why they chose them. They got the battlefield experience, true, but I honestly doubt they’re a natural-born leader, I mean, they’re a paragon, but not exactly a commander.. or have the right kind of experience. That said, we’ve never seen them in a position to make a sufficient assay of their leadership abilities, so maybe they’re alright, but I have my concerns, too, yes
(was that sufficiently spoilerproofing)
