I was reading some other complaint that was blatantly just another lazy player that wants everything handed to him with zero effort. As I read comments one guy said this:

“Most of the complaints are coming from the same whiners that complain about anything Anet does.
If you are too lazy to even play a game, then stop playing mmo’s.
If you don’t like working for things, then play WoW.
If you don’t like group content, then go play a single player game.
If you don’t want to pay for an expansion, go play a free to play game.”

To me this just about sums everything up, that being said, Anet this expan is fantastic! Yeah there’s a few bugs here and there, but overall it is amazing so far. Don’t cave to the haters let them go as we don’t want them anyway. Keep up the great work Anet.. And haters don’t bother replying, just reread the quote I posted over and over again until one day you find yourself playing a game where you get everything for free for logging in.

It’s great that you like it but that doesn’t change the fact that people are making valid complaints. Doesn’t change the fact that the direction Anet is taking in HoTs is pretty much the complete opposite direction of anything else they’ve ever done in the past. And subsequently everything that drew players to the game in the first place. Or that they nerfed the kitten out of vanilla content to make the new stuff more appealing.

But yeah, people are just being lazy and want everything now.

Also it’s pretty silly to think that only people who have complained a lot in the past are doing so now especially when we see a lot of people who say they never or rarely post on the forums and are doing so because they’re disappointed with how things are.

What about those that aren’t lazy, like challenge and opportunity to use skill, welcome group content, and happily paid for the expansion they were excited to play, but simply hate grinding the same events over and over for barely any experience?

Why not just bump up the experience and let us progress instead of having us grind way more than should be necessary? We’re not gaining anything from repetitive grinding. I rather put that time into grinding for legendary mats.

See the funny part is.. The guy who said that quote I posted was talking Directly to you in particular. So thank you for proving my point further in that a complainer will complain repeatedly. And no I am not alone, there are many payers who would strongly agree, these are not valid points people are placing… It is day 2.

My thoughts exactly. The xpac is worth my money as I’ve had a great time just exploring and doing the story. I think it all comes down to your attitude towards the new stuff. The people who are in a rush to complete everything fast will not be satisfied. But would they be satisfied if they could complete everything in 2 weeks? No, they would then complain that the xpac is too easy and too short.

The only thing that they could improve imo is making all the hero challenges soloable (but not too easy ofc), because many players like to play alone. Personally, I get more enjoyment out of new stuff by playing it with others.

Exactly my point. Complainer mentality is exactly that. If they can rush it they will kitten about how fast is was, if it is gated they will kitten about how it’s a grind. There is no middle ground here, because then both b1itchrs will kitten.

If it was that good you would be busy playing it as opposed to wasting time here attempting to invalidate others complaints.

Critique is healthy and should be embraced as much as praise, it tends to make for a better game and hey….that is the sole intent of forums, a medium for customer feedback, both good and bad.

If you love the game more power to you but to complain about critique on a gaming forum a few days after a content release? Seriously?

Why are you doing the same events? Explore and do other events. There are four new maps with new content and each map has different levels with different content in them. Try the story, try to find new locations on the maps. Don’t rush it.

You should also change the mastery lines every now and then to unlock things that will gain you access to new locations.

My few words for complainers – why??? Why do You complain. You can choose to not buy if You feel that these money aren’t worth it.
I played one day and I’m at 80% of Reaper line. That is one godkitten day. Where is grind? Play Lineage2 or ArcheAge to see what real grind mean. And about timegated – why the kitten it should be fast to optain? Where is reward in feeling after achiving goal?

I had fun already with xpac. GW series was always in between quasi-grind feel and easy to jump in to game with new char. And it should stay like this because I enjoyed this feature.
And thanks to ANet team for being great as always. I taught that f2p and xpac could probably dampen their way but nope. They are great as always.

Haters gonna hate, fans gonna like and in the end we are all the same – players in the game. So what is that fuss about ‘complaining’? Just enjoy Your time in their game.

Yes alone with everyone else enjoying the game. Don’t know why that’s an issue.

To be fair, there are legit complaints, but many of them are just people who are like special interest groups who want the game tailored for their specific demographic, even if that demographic isn’t that large.

I prefer not having my spec unlocked in the beginning. It gives more motivation to unlock it as u go along so I don’t see the reason for complaining tbh .

Hate to break it to you but just because you don’t like the complaints and you love the expansion doesn’t mean the complaints aren’t valid.

It’s some ego you got there to think that you can just dismiss all complaints because you think they are not valid.

I might complain, though I prefer to think of it as constructive criticism, but I’ve never told anyone to take a hike because they have a differing opinion than mine.

We all paid money to play this game therefor we’re all entitled to post what we want (within the tos) on the forums until Anet and not you says otherwise.

I will say though I haven’t really complained about anything. I’ve actually been quite busy leveling up my revenant.

This post is especially ironic and amusing because you’re making a meta post complaining about complainers.

The feedback to any game is a necessary part of the design. Most complains have some constructiveness to them and as such contribute to that pool of feedback that the designers need to make changes and improve.

Threads like this however serve no purpose, it’s a complain about complainers and there’s nothing constructive and necessary for the developers within this thread. It’s rather useless and only serve to instigate a flame war. I see these threads all the time in the different MMOs I’m playing, complainers complaining about the complainers. I’m still rather amused by those who make such threads, what do they think they’ll achieve? Forum peace? That the complainers will stop complaining? Of course not, it serves no real purpose other that – as said – to instigate a flame war. As we already see here.

If people have some feedback to the expansion they’re entitled to have one and as such also entitled to make a thread. I don’t see how any forum users can revoke that right.

I payed 100 euro for the expansion and often I also buy to the gem store.
Becose i really like this game and also the expansion.
Arenanet is a big and great team. I never write in the comment how much greatly appreciated this game but i’m here so is obviously….
I was really excited about the expansion that I have dona the build for each class (more or less).
Now they are asking to me to do PvE and yes i’m doing PvE for have new Elite traits and the Mastery and is really fun.
But Ok with the first class, but with the other 8?
Anyway I would like do PvE in the new map becose are great, just don’t ask to me to do it for the Hero points.
The Mastery sistem for me is Ok.
Sorry for my English I tried to explain how I feel with that few words that I knows.
