Unrealistic Legendary Collections
“Legendary”. It’s not legendary if everybody is running around with these things, particle effects crowding up the screen.
This game is built so casual players can play and succeed without being ground into dust by hardcore players. But hardcore players need something to go hardcore for. And it’s in ANet’s best interest to give hardcore players something to grind for.
Hardcore play feeds gem sales by either driving gem purchases from hardcore players, or driving gem purchases from people buying the expensive items that only the hardcore players acquire through traditional play.
I have come to the opposite conclusion.
It’s basic supply and demand. More supply (more mats on market), less demand (less people building precursors.) Maybe you could explain your reasoning?

Some people will want to do all precursor collections simply because of the 3*3*20 = 180 AP.
How does that drive prices up? Those people are already in the market, and unless they have bottomless coffers some of them will swap out to selling mats too.

sure.
More demand (a new sink for ascended mats), unchanged supply (timegated creation)

The AP hunters will sell the precursors but consume the t7 mats. T7 mats go up, precursor prices down.
Glad to see it’s not just me who thinks ANet are full of ****.
