Interesting, we continue to be in order on the Professions page, having only skipped Ranger. This gives me some hope for Thief next week, though as that will be the week leading up to PAX Prime we might not get a profession elite at all.

And makes me scared that Ranger will once again be glossed over as a profession with no direction.

Interesting… a torch offhand for warrior could be a condition offhand, meanng a possible full condition warrior in the future… I might level a warrior if that pans out. Already made a full set of heavy ascended sinister gear for rev, but was fairly disappointed with it, maybe this will be even better.

seems unlikely based on the existance of berserker gear, I’d think “Barbarian” is more likely. but we’ll see. (crusader doesn’t look right)

Barbarian and Berserker are not fitting names for a Torch-wielding warrior.

Berserker actually does work based on the lore behind berserk warriors → bladed weapons and fire not having any apparent affect on them. We could be setting outselves on fire and flying into a blood rage as part of the mechanic.

Well, that’s what the data-mined image said. Just like the Engineer image said “Forge”.
Of course, that doesn’t have to mean anything, but there is also a Necromancer Achievement that has “Reaper” in it. So names being already in the game doesn’t make it impossible either.

Considering Berserkers to fight in a trance-like fury while ignoring any pain (e.g. due to fire) and the fact, they compared themselves to animals and their strength (like Bears and Wolves) that name would also fit the Torch with animal design.

Oh and the German title for the Warrior elite spec picture says:
“Wenn die Wut in mir brennt, und das Adrenalin durch die Adern schießt…!”,
which can be translated as:
“When the rage burns inside me and the adrenaline rushes through my veins…!”.

Sounds pretty berserky to me. :P

I wonder what the additional mechanic to compensate only an offhand will be – only an F2 in addition to F1 or something else as well?

There was mention of one specialization getting a defiance bar as a mechanic and if they didn’t mean the Tempest’s earth overload ability, I could imagine the Warrior turning his full adrenaline bar into a defiance bar for some time.

Curious to see how this one works out. Torch is my least favorite weapon in the game (for aesthetic reasons), but who knows.

I’m actually excited torch is being added to the warrior. I was hoping for either that or pistol.

Interesting, Defiance would fit nicely together with an F2 (much like alacrity and F5). I might make another warrior to enjoy playing this specialisation.

If I take the name etymology further, I am placing my guess for the elite spec as being called:

“The Growler”
(or possibly “The Jackal”)

Ranger getting two hander so they likely will get a changed mechanics to pet.

It depends on how well the elite trait coordinate with existing weapons and traits.

I hope we don’t required to use torch to work with the elite trait to be effective.

The head facing us looks much more like a prairie dog than a hound. If the head to the right (as we face it) is a weasel and the one to the left a fox we could be looking at a warrior specialized in dealing with vermin, rodents, and the other predatory animals that infringe upon farmers’ and ranchers’ territory.

It’s not 3 hounds.
It’s a snake handle, a bear, a wolf, and a lion.
The torch already exists in game and it’s pretty clear what they are.

I hope Anet can design more torch skin which is more creative…

There are so many warrior players out there feel unpleasant because torch basically look very ugly and does not match our costume.

What about Torch skin of a Flame ball on the palm like anomaly? What about a torch skin with a blade covered with flame? What about a floating stone with strong glowing light?

If we got any of the above mentioned, your players will be much more hyped when they get torch as a new weapon.

Besides torch, we also need better skin for warhorn too (Tempest ele, i felt you)

For a game cosmetic comes first, MAKE IT HAPPEN.

I hope it’s not really called the Crusader, that sounds more like an elite spec for the Guardian. I’d expect names like Juggernaut, Titan, Barbarian, Berserker, Warlord, Gladiator, or other similar themes for Warrior elite specs.

Datamined berserk skill, 8s cd.
Gives +33% attack speed and area burning.
Can be traited with aoe taunt, bleeding, fury, defiance bar for 4s.

If it doesn’t at least consume and last til you finish adrenaline, then it’s op as kitten.
Well, not that it can’t be still activated every 8s in a battle…

Plus all the traits on adrenaline skill activation. My god…
