what happens if halfway through one of these scavenger hunts we get our precursors as a drop or buy it? Does it acknowledge the journey over or act like the precursor doesn’t even exist in our inventory?

Anyone do this yet?

Precursor drops are not account bound like the precursor you craft. You are free to use a precursor drop to craft a legendary, give it away or sell it on the TP.

Precursor crafting is done through collections. As long as obtaining the precursor isn’t part of the collection itself, getting one as a drop shouldn’t affect anything.

Even if it has the same name it is considered somewhat different. By that I mean that if you want the achievement “Twice-Told Legend” you would need to have 2 of the same precursor drop or from the Mystic Toilet. You would need to make 2 of the same the “old” way. The ones made from the “new” way can only be done once so you cannot get that achievement the “new” way. If you don’t care about the achievement then do what you want with the precursor that drops.

(For myself I am not worried about the AP from it. I will only do 2 of the same if I happen to get 2 dropping from killing things. I don’t play the Mystic Toilet.)
