Ebonhawke + Ascalon
Main: Endeavorr
It’s supposed to be now, or atleast closer to GW2 than 1. There are more inaccuracies than the Northern area. The Janthir-Bay for example is wrong, Shing-Jea is attached to the Canthan mainland and the Jadesea is not marked as a sea (still petrified?).
This could be due to fact that the map was made by people on Tyria, which may don’t know how certain parts of Tyria look in reality.
Oh ok, that makes sense. I wish, eventually, there is elaboration on other human kingdoms. I mean, it’s said humans spread over all of Tyria, right?
Main: Endeavorr
I certainly hope not. We already have the human nations of Kryta, Ascalon, Istan, Kourna, Vabbi, and Cantha. Though the Elonian nations are more undead now than human, and Ascalon has mostly been conquered by the charr.
It would still be slightly absurd if humanity is 90% of the world, and all the charr, norn, asura, sylvari, hylek, tengu, quaggan, krait, skritt, dredge, ogres, giants, and everything else are in this one pocket.

The Ebon Vanguard and Fallen Angels will be used heavily in the Elona Expansion. Ebonhawke will be the main city for going into Elona.
Reasons:
1. It is incomplete.
2. It has everything a normal capital city would have (TP, Bank, Trainers, Karma Venders, etc)
3. It has two entry ways into Elona (One is the main gate, the other is the tunnel that whisper agents travel through

Tyria the continent, not Tyria the world.
The only race said to have been spread over the world are the tengu – and that’s past tense.

Uh. Ebonhawke isn’t incomplete. You might be referring to the area that’s underconstruction because of siege weaponry damage? That’s renovation, not incompleteness.
And Skrittsburg and Zinctl Holy Grounds (spelling may be wrong) in Brisban Wildlands and Sparkfly Fen respectively have the same amount of stuff as Ebonhawke. And all three hold events – cities are without events, and much bigger. Ebonhawke won’t be a new city.
And that tunnel doesn’t lead to Elona – it just goes between the Ebonhawke fields and the base.

Even with events, though, I’d say Ebonhawke is a lot safer than Skrittsburg or Zinctl. Still, while Ebonhawke will probably be the main jumping point for going into the Crystal Desert, I can definitely see ArenaNet deciding that with the gate Divinity’s Reach serves well enough as the ‘home city’ for going into the desert. Certainly, I doubt they’ll ever redo Ebonhawke as something like one of the six main cities now.

It would be interesting to see Ebonhawke’s future involvement because I can see it as the launching point for a southern “push” led by the humans to reclaim the Crystal Desert from the branded.

I do think it’s likely that the Charr will give all the land east of the dragonbrand to the humans. I mean, the Charr have so much land already, that’s the least they can do. I also see the Krytan Humans attempting to expand their nation through the woodland cascades at a later point.
As for the Ascalonian settlers in Kryta, it is clear that the refugees were here to stay considering how half of the Krytan NPCs seem to be of Ascalonian descent. The number of NPCs that look Native Krytan are very few. It seems that there was possibly a lot of genetic mixing between the two peoples.
Isn’t the land east of Ascalon the ancient charr homeland?

I think gold meant the land east of the Dragonbrand, and west of the Blazeridge. The Blazeridge Mountains is currently ogre homeland, and east of that is more charr lands.

Still, that’d be kind of a kick in the teeth.
“You humans can have all that land. Yeah, on the other side of the huge strip of evil creatures that can turn you into crystal by touching you. Or something just if you’re inside it. Right, the other side. I’m sure you’ll be fine.”
And a man who trusts no one is a fool.

Well, to be fair, Ebonhawke is in that strip of land. There is a practical reason for dividing it that way – while the Dragonbrand remains active, it serves as a natural border well beyond the rivers often used for that purpose on Earth..

I’d hardly call that a kick in the teeth. It’s a good portion of land, while being easily accessible to all humans thanks to the asura gate in Ebonhawke, and doesn’t require crossing the dragonbrand to get to. I mean, what would really be a kick in the teeth would be if the charr said “if you can get rid of the Ghosts, Ascalon City is yours again” or if they said “you can have what’s become the Dragonbrand once Kralkatorrik’s dealt with.”
At least this way, they have an obvious boundary from the charr – dragonbrand on one end, mountains on the other. And the only threat they have will be ogres, which are also still a threat to charr, and are trying to move into that territory already (and have been since the peace talks began).
