What about the Blighted being the minions of the Jungle Dragon? Gamarien (the sylvari NPC in Wychmire Swamp meta event) talks about them being “the consequence of an even darker force than the Nightmare Court.”

That’s my own personal theory that I had when I researched Mordremoth months ago. Found here though now long outdated since I’ve seen more things regarding it.

Been thinking of redoing that research.

I myself don’t believe the nightmare court has anything to do with the Jungle Dragon though. But this is all very interesting

1. Husks seem heavily implied to be Mordremoth’s minions.
2. Nightmare Court make heavy use of husks.
3. Those who fall to the nightmare – which is said to be unbeatable by some – can never return (just like dragon corruption).

I don’t think the NC has a direct connection to Mordremoth, but I believe the nightmare may – it’s also that Faolain first witnessed the nightmare in Orr, giving it a potential tie to the Elder Dragons (which is one of the speculated origins of it, even).

There’s a lot of similarities between NC and dragon minions (such as some means of conversion and how once converted you can’t go back, as pointed out), except that NC have free will and don’t show physical change. Then again, there are also a lot of similarities in the mentality of Foefire ghosts and dragon minions.

Yeah I get where you’re coming from. This is just my personal belief ^^
