So I’m parading my newly created Book of Secrets around Lion’s Arch a couple of weeks ago, and then I start to get the itch to change my asura’s hair. So I go and do the last Living World episode to get my free hair kit, and I find the first image halfway through the section.
Fast forward to last week and I’m doing map completion in Straits of Devastation (or was it Malchor’s Leap? I forget) and I find this gem (second image). I am now confused, intrigued and a bit put off by my newly acquired and first ascended item. Anybody else curious about this?
The two entries contradict my theory that they’re the same books. Still searching for more. Anybody else find these books scattered about, with the same look?
If I come across a book like this, I’ll let you know. Although it could be a re-used texture that can still link the books: the stamp was a serpent on it right? idk how but it might connect the two books to something else than the Forgotten (at least the book “Fire of the Gods” is related to the Forgotten, who knows what the Captain has to do with them?). Could be interesting :)

They use the Forgotten Tome texture (first majorly used in Forgotten path of Arah explorable) several times over, including for all ascended backpieces.
They only have like 5 interactive book appearances made, so there’s like 50 books that have the New Krytan text “History of Tyria Vol 1” on it.
