And plants can be parasitic (e.g mistletoe). IRL there aren’t any parasitic plants that feed on animals, but IRL there aren’t any plants that walk around and try and kill you either.

I know. Probably should have quoted it, but I was directly refering to “look like Zombie Fungus. It’s not surprising, plants are some of the most gruesome living things in our world.”

That’s like saying “look at this tall tree. It’s not surprising, giraffes are the tallest land animals.” Atleast in my eyes, maybe I’m pedantic.

You don’t win friends with salad! Sorry I just got caught up in the rhythm.

Apparently the cave opens near the end of the sandstorm (or I think that’s its trigger. It opened as soon as the Skritt Queen notification appeared) but all I saw inside was thorny death and sadness. All in all, me and the person I was playing with lasted about 5 seconds flailing about the entrance. Did anyone manage to get farther inside?

Update: I got to the back of it. And promptly died again. Still saw nothing but death and sadness, but this time a chest was involved. I looked around the room post mortem, but found nothing interesting. Just a writhing mass of vines coming from the ceiling. I took screenshots, but they’re probably not interesting enough to post

It opens with killing some Mordrem in front, for me. Killed a couple of the husks and a leecher and some tendrils and it opened at least.

Yeah, I forgot to mention my second time in it opened only after I killed a few things. Not sure exactly WHICH ones are required, but I know the two husks and at least one large tendril died before the door opened.

So I finally cleared the cave. Aside from an odd green pulsing glow in the center of the room, there really isn’t much to it

It seems to me like it is future place for the portal to the next map, or an entrance to a dungeon. The map boundaries end just beside that cave, so I’m guessing it is the case.

If it really is intended to be used as a map portal or dungeon entrance people aren’t going to be happy with the difficulty.

They would likely clear it out when they had a thing that people needed to go to.

I doubt it. They often put a portal there for both cases, just leave it inactive and blocked/unreachable.

More likely, the Inquest Gate in the cave beneath will serve as the portal to the next zone. People found it blocking to a long cave that reached far north before the fourth release.
