Krall Peterson – Warrior

But back to the previous point, I fail to see how Scarlet’s chaos and destruction aids Dhuum in any way.
1. Civilians die.
2. Civilians get sent to the Underworld.
3: Civilians get killed again in the Underworld, due to being more or less unable to defend themselves, thus making Dhuum stronger.
4: ???
5: Profit.
1. Civilians die.
2. Civilians get sent to the Underworld.
Wait right there. Why would they remain there?

“It is where all newly dead souls are brought before they are sent to their final destinations.”
So how would this benefit Dhuum?
(edited by Mad Queen Malafide.7512)
Where else would they end up? And why assume they will survive long enough to make it on to their final destinations (if said destination is not the Underworld).
Gwens mother was running around in the UW quite long after her death after all.

Because she was a restless spirit. She was the victim of the Searing. Normally spirits pass through the Underworld, to the Mists (and maybe to the Hall of Heroes, if they are lucky).
And how is people being killed by invasion and/or terrorist attacks/weapons of mass-destructions different from people being killed by the Searing?
Next question – Why would the molten and toxic alliances support the return of former human god of death, or any human gods at all? Let’s have a better answer please than Scarlet being so super that she can get anyone to do anything.

The Searing caused a large amount of spirits to remain in the Underworld, unable to move on. This is also true of the spirits we see at the village in the Underworld, who were also victims of the Searing. We’re talking about a malevolent and sudden unnatural death, that caused them to become restless spirits.
Many people die on Tyria, either in battle, or naturally, or by falling victim to some monster. Yet we do not see those spirits wander the Underworld. This indicates that the Searing was a very special event, that had devastating consequences.
idk
1) humans killed by their protectors and their furthest advance in technology the watchwork knights (queen’s jubilee)
2) people assassinated during a party (dragon bash also seems some citizens may have been killed by the aetherblades)
3) a disease that spreads across the continent causing hysteria and death (tower of nightmare)
4) people forced to leave their homes and retreat from a blitzkrieg that came from the north (frost and flame)
These all seem like fairly traumatic events that killed many people and changed a bit of the landscape in tyria, out of all of these though I’d say tower of nightmare would’ve been the closest in comparison to the searing. (unforeseen attack, driving people insane, massive change to the landscape)
siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
People did not remain in the Underworld long just because of the Searing or some other magically devastating hoo-ha.
1.) Most of the Underworld was mostly stuck in time during the lifespan of Guild Wars. Dhuum’s addition was the greatest change to ever occur and show the passing of time in there, but the Labyrinth where we start is game mechanically frozen in time. Sarah, on the other hand, stays there only because she has no knowledge of her little Gwen, and wouldn’t want to pass on without learning her fate. (Arguably, she could’ve stayed in Ascalon as a restless spirit, but I digress.)
2.) Only the souls of Grenth’s worshipers stay in the UW, everyone else is sent to their proper place after being judged.
3.) We know that while presumably weakened, the Reapers are still at large in the Underworld, meaning they did not forsake their charge and are still organizing, judging, rewarding, and punishing souls according to their lives by sending them to the appropriate afterlife (Hall of Heroes, Eternal Paradise, Realm of Torment, Balthazar’s realm (the Fissure of Woe is only part of the larger realm), Melandru’s, and Lyssa’s realm, etc.).
Your list fails at the 3rd point, krall.

It’s not a matter of trauma. It’s a matter of unfinished business, and a life being cut short by a way that disrupted the natural order of things. People get killed on Tyria by magic all the time. And they get killed by poison all the time. That is not unique. The Searing was unique, as was the Foe Fire for that matter, or the destruction of Orr. Those were severe cataclysms. We’re talking forbidden magic being used in all three cases, and causing spirits to become restless.
Normally spirits continue on their way into the Mists. The only deaths that benefit Dhuum, are those of creatures that die in the Underworld. Not creatures that simply die on Tyria.

lol. it’s pretty funny if you know what that term used to refer to.

They recently added Dhuumstone finishers to the dat-file…. ^^

yeah, this thread was the first thing that came to mind when i saw that.
also… FISHING RODS AND POLEARMS!! ahem sorry, getting off topic.
The Dhuumstone is an interesting add. If found a fishing pole not too long ago at the bottom of a lake in Snowden drifts.

the one that was datamined is a gathering tool though
There is a fishing pole already in the game that gathers Succulent Crabs. During Crab Toss.
This theory is still hokey. Not really likely.
