HERO are those all just your ideas about the story of the pale tree in GW2 or are you basing it on some other source? I’ve never seen anything from ANET that would suggest this version of events. I don’t believe that the pale tree is a dragon. It could be that the pale tree is like Glint….one who has turned against her master. Then it would make sense that she’s creating sylvari to help defeat the dragons including her own master.

This actually would make sense since Anet did say we would learn how Glint managed to be rid of her master’s control, in GW2.

we did learn how she was rid of her masters corruption and control, it was the forgotten, they cleansedher in return for the flameseeker prophecies (helping the forgotten be rid of their mortal enemies, the mursaat) this was actually a big part of arah explorable, where you cleanse a risen chicken at the alter of glaust (glints name before kralkatorrik corrupted her)

Well isnt that obvious? Seeds dont just pop out of thin air… They come from a tree
Technically the Pale Tree would be a dragon champion, while the Sylvari themselves are its minions.

According to the vision that the Pale Tree gives to the player and to Trahearne, The Elder Dragons seek only to destroy all life on Tyria. Now why would the Pale Tree share such a vision, if the Pale Tree is a dragon minion herself? Or why would it even care to help us fight Zhaitan?

No way is the Pale Tree allied to any of the Elder Dragons. It just doesn’t make any sense.

bah ill put it bluntly 3 truth

1. the pale tree could be a redeemed dragon champion altrought it was stated that the pale tree seed appeared on the grave of a human wich only wanted peace along with ventari wich could just be some form of a miracle that was allowed by the 6 gods
2. The thing poisoning the dream is obviously the jungle elder dragon mordremoth himself whos trying to subvert sylvaris to become his puppets thus the emergence of the nightmare courts.
3. The pale tree is a peacefull behing of infinite love and compassion, and while its power may look limited in the real world you shouldnt dismiss it as weakness for its influance in the dream might actualy be way stronguer then in the material world.

wasnt the pale tree planted during guild wars 1 by ronan and ventari? so if the pale tree is the elder dragon of jungle meaning it was planted by humans and centaur

Allow me to explain Orangensaft: The OP was referring to a WoodenPotatoes video in which WP mistakenly translates binary seen within Zone Green of the Infinite Coil Reactor to be “Pale Tree” – the Infinite Coil Reactor is the complex in which the Crucible of Eternity is focused on. The complex’s main purpose is to study Elder Dragon minions, magic, and so forth.

This mistranslation led to a massive upheaval of people claiming that the Pale Tree is an Elder Dragon and/or a champion of an Elder Dragon because it “got mentioned” in a place tied to vegetation (Zone Green) where the respective location (Experimental Green Lab) is full of Summoned Husks and Nightmare Hounds. Basically people went on a spree proclaiming that this is proof that the sylvari are dragon minions.

In reality, the binary message shown means “End Transmission Sequence” (or something like that), not Pale Tree. And to be perfectly honest, when dealing with sylvari on a whole there’s a lot more evidence against the theory of them being directly tied to the Elder Dragons than there is for (the “for” side having just about “no evidence”) – though if one were to just link the Nightmare (and in turn Nightmare Court), then it’s a more even and inconclusive debate.

The “confirmation” that the OP mentions is just a mistranslation – in other words, there is no confirmation.

To clear the scenario regarding the Pale Tree. Forget about in-game lore – the Sylvari are the writers’ (meta-lore?) favorite race at the moment and PT was clearly designed to be benevolent. Every problem the player-base has with Scarlet can be, in fact, associated with the entire Sylvari race. You simply can’t have an evil PT because GW2 is about the Sylvari.

That’s not to say I haven’t had my ideas about an evil PT (my favorite evil PT wants to claim Orr for herself and the spell Trahearne cast also had the effect of area denial). Evil PT would in a very large way fix the race in my humble opinion – but that’s definitely not the case.

Was there not s Sylvari PS where one guy was from “another” pale tree?

And I do believe I read somewhere that Scarlet knows that guys secret, that he was from another pale tree deeper into the jungle, so hopefully we will see more areas in this year

Two accounts named “Angel” can be misleading. Especially when one is a dev who, for some reason, doesn’t have red yet.

Scarlet mentioned knowing Caithe’s secret but what that secret was has never been revealed. If you refer to the Nightmare Chamber dialogues, Scarlet mentions something for all second racial storylines in the Personal Story so that may just be an hallucination.

Here’s me theory: The pale tree while it was a seed was meant to be a champion of the jungle elder dragon, however the tablets between the human And the centaur somehow broke the corruption of the pale tree and gave it free will. The pale tree is unique because it is the only know tree that births Sylvari that are against dragons. The Sylvari not from the pale tree dosen’t show any incentive to stop the Elder Dragons. I believer this is because the Pale tree had her orders from the Jungle ED and when it was released from the corruption, she wanted to stop the destruction from the ED much like Glint. So infancy when Scarlett travelled through the mists and and the dream she saw the Pale Trees true goal and wanted to fulfill without the Pale Trees blessing. The thumper turrets could be used somehow to use the Ley lines to either hit roots underground of the Jungle ED or of the pale tree to awaken/ recorrupt the pale tree
