I have a theory on these guys. They are you classic image of a secreative business organisation that could be participating in questionable aspects.

They clearly wanted something on Southsun Cove and when talking to NPCs they hint they are looking for something.

They needed a cash flow and the tourist attraction was on such source. Sadly that wasn’t enough. They need more man power or more money, but it wasn’t enough. They needed a way to get people to go there and actually help them look for the things. Perhaps under the guise of a mining operation. What better than to trick two evil groups into working together to “push” refugees out of selected areas? Come on now, the dredge and flame legion working together? Maybe once in a full moon, but if the pay is right and they get to kill random people, why not?

Look at the facts, this is a money grubbing organisation that glady threw their friend under the bus with the karaka incident. It would be interesting to see what they find on the ancient island of Southsun Cove. Could this be a connection to Abbadons first Magonrite, or perhaps it has something to do with the Forgotten.

On Southsun Cove, they were just surveying the land to see if it’d be a good vacational spot – to make them money. And despite the karka presence, they believe it is. What they wanted on the island was just that – and what they’re not looking for is remnants of the expedition’s search (Pearl Inlet event).

I don’t doubt there’s something that pushed the Flame Legion and dredge to work together, but the Consortium isn’t some villainous secret organization – they’re just a group out there to get money. Yeah, they don’t have morals, but they’re not evil.

Also, Southsun Cove isn’t ancient – it’s brand new on the map (both GW1 and GW2) and the western island is highly volcanic. Only Pearl Inlet may be ancient, given those ruins and the jumping puzzle’s name: Under New Management.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
