Who the hell are these people?!
Yeah I kind of feel you. However, the new characters, and their stories, played out in Season 1 of the Living Story. Which turned out to be a rather ill advised way to introduce the story. As each chapter went for 2 weeks, and then lost forever, before a new chapter was released. Then we get into season 2. While re-playable, it does leave out some VERY key points to the story that were revealed in Season 1. However, until Season 1 is re-released, there are a great many challenges to doing that, they have thrown in an NPC in LA to help give a back story on who these people are, as well as the you tube videos.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you

Plus, Glint comes from GW1 so it’s not something that just came up from no where. Apparently She has been around for awhile, both helping and opposing our heroes

Anet does give a brief synopsis of S1 in game. This introduces the characters and sets things up for S2.
Lol what you are basically describing is taking 3 books. You read the first one then hop to the third one and say OMG WHAT IS GOING ON?
This is not Anet’s fault…..zzzzzzz
Also, this fee you describe is essentially equal to $2. I think its 20% off as well….
……my guy (human) turned from an all loving uuuh rainbows tyria is so great hihihi bad boy youre such a meanie hihihi…….
My character’s feelings were hurt by this statement. He is NOT a meanie!!!
ANet may give it to you.
“Its driving me insane Like blue guardian phoneix flying ghost protector of blue dragon named glint wich is aperently not a lizard but dead but not enterily dead but trapped in the mist and channeld trough a guy who apperently walked straight out of kittening hell TO HEAR BLOODY VOICES IN HIS HEAD I CANT kittenING DO THIS ANYMORE ARENA NET!”
That is textbook insanity indeed. Anet, fix this.

i like how your only example is a character from guild wars 1 that died before the sequel released

Even with the bad formatting, I still can’t understand why the OP thinks it’s completely unreasonable to step part way into a running story and not know what’s happening.
If you talk to an NPC in LA, in addition to getting a trailer to Season 1 to explain it you can talk to them and get the explanations of who they are. It’s not a bad intro. Not the same as playing, mind you. I’ve also told the story to newer members of my guild which is considerably better.
I have to admit: when I started playing hot story, I also considered the ‘new’ characters to be quite irritating. So you know what I did? I did a quick currency exchange, bought and played the living story aaand…wow, it all makes sense now.
If you are only remotely interested in the story, and i assume you are, you will have to buy ls. There is .simply no way around it. I will also say, that the story is not bad at all and the characters are amazing! They are actually alive, there is so much more depth added to the game world and to your character. I generally disliked trahearne and destinies edge, as many others did, the only character from ps I actually liked was tybalt. But trust me that, once you get used to the new team, you’ll love them.
Open your Story Journal on the Hero Screen (default: H). Click on the “Scarlet’s War” tab and select “Begin This Story”. Follow the Story instructions. That should explain everything you need to know in overview.
If you want more intricate details, pony up and buy Living Story Season 2, then play through it. I suggest buying the bundle pack, it’s more efficient. You might also consider picking up (and reading) the book ‘Edge of Destiny’. It explains not only some events referenced in the Personal Story, but also the story and fate of Glint, the draconic oracle whom Rytlock befriends in the Mists.
Or… you know… you could accept that you, the audience, don’t know what’s going on and move forward. Any reasonably intelligent person should be able to figure out the important bits through context:
“Who are these people?” They are your companions.
“Why am I acting like this?” Because you’re their leader… and your ships and friends got blown up by a jungle dragon, leaving you a bit salty.
“Who is that crazy Charr?” He’s very powerful. He knows more than you. He’s on your side.
“What’s up with this dragon/phoenix/ghost thingy?” Again, she knows more than you. She’s also on your side. She needs your help.
“What happened to ‘my’ Pact?” It was smashed to bits by the jungle dragon you wanted (and still want) to blow up… also it was never ‘your’ Pact.
“WTF? Caithe is evil?” She did something bad and you want to know why.
All of this, and more, is given to you in the first 10-15 minutes of Heart of Thorns, during the introductory mission required to enter. Everything else is part of the current story and told to you in context when necessary.

So what i can interpet from your comment on the post is.. you think that making an expansion wich is still being advertised on various websites and comes off as something completly amazing and nows the time to get into said game, and think that it its completly all right to put in things you wouldnt possibly know without having played the first guild wars or not playing the game since launch.. on the other hankittenhe only one here who thinks you shouldnt pay 300 Danish crowns (exchange that in any currency you currently have) to be able to play trough valid Plot points.. i mean of course now that its gone free to play they need to make that money and thats fair enough but still if youre going to make an expansion dont make it rely on you playing trough it all from the start to know what the kitten is going on, and i wouldnt kitten like this if they pulled all their advertisment down from various websites wich promotes this expansion as A GREAT TIME TO GET INTO THE GAME when really it comes off as pff you havent played the rest of the game? oh well kitten you random new player huheuheue

You dont need to buy LS2 if you dont want, just use wiki. wiki tells you everything about the characters and story. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lore
“WTF? Caithe is evil?” She did something bad and you want to know why.
To be fair, she’s always been evil. You just didn’t have it rubbed in your face until then. Before that, it was always evil in your favor.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

We must be playing a different game.

You forgot the part where the author had then burned all copies of the first book, leaving only audience-made summaries of it, then slapped in a recap prologue in the third book.

Merciless to Nightmare Courtiers != evil
Honestly, Caithe is the most developed – personality and history wise – of all DE. I mean, what do we know of Logan or Rytlock’s past? pretty much nothing (though more on Logan thanks to Edge of Destiny and family relationships), or Eir? Not much – nothing at all, really, until Braham showed up. Zojja? Only that she was Snaff’s apprentice (which isn’t really past since that’s Edge of Destiny material).
Caithe we know so much more. We know her motivations, her secrets, her harsh truths. We have a well developed and consistent personality (which is why the hatred on her during HoT is so odd – her taking the egg for protection without explanation is exactly the kind of stuff she did in Edge of Destiny – remember the scene where she just gets up and runs away to stop a bear baiting fight without any explanation to Rytlock or Logan who wonder where she’s running off to all of a sudden?), unlike with any of the biconics, or Zojja, or Eir, really.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
