I will hope that there will be more bosses reworks like tequalt in the near future.Expecially the jungle wurm in caledon forest, the behemoth in gendarran field or the svanir shaman.

They apparently have interest in doing it, but we have not really been given a time frame when it will happen. Don’t get your hopes up.

Don’t expect it to happen for any of the world bosses in starter zones.

doubt very much the starter zone bosses will be touched beyond a light tweak here and there.

it’s been covered so many times here—this post is redundant. Can’t even be bothered putting up the ‘dead horse’.

Like others have said, this comes up all the time, but I’m bored so…

I think it’d be cool if all the Dragons got a rework (shatterer is a joke and Claw is Just tedious). Put em somewhere on the higher end scale.
But I also think it’s unfair to pull too many meta boss events away from the more casual crowd (or people who just wanna relax and unwind for a little bit).
I’d much rather see them focus on making new ones rather than tearing through all the old ones.
But that’s just me /shrug.

Seriously, why are we still able to cheese our way though Golem Mark II by standing on a box?

XD I highly doubt someone designed that boss with electric fields to dodge and so on, and then said, “Y’know what would be great? If people just avoided all that and stood on a box spamming ranged”

Seriously, I can’t possibly think why removing a box would be so hard. Not even mad at people exploiting, more embarrassed for Anet for not making such an obvious fix.

There are little things like that, or Shatterer’s hill, or even some of the cheese that goes on in dungeons, that really seemed like easy fixes, but have yet to be resolved.

leave starter zone bosses alone for the most part but a rework of shatterer and jormag or others out of the starter zone would be nice. tequatl is the only one i like doing atm. i do shatterer and jormag plus a few other but they require no thought just hit 1 so id love to see a revamp of them maybe they could do that and release them before the exspansion

It’s not like it’s difficult to survive without that thing. The electric fields seems to be a very good demonstration of the RNG being broken in GW2.

Well, people think that LS2 is hard enough. So I doubt Anet would make alot of its’ already old content harder, as the game’s target audience is the more casual crowd.

Eh. Does the casual crowd need the Fire Elemental to be a <10 seconds pinata with a 10 minute auto-win pre-event?

I mean… The husks at Wurm do not even have the time to reach the poor beast before it pops. The mechanics is essentially dead.

This is not a good advertisement for the game. Those “bosses” are just huge piles of disappointment for many new players.

You know what… For Fire Ele and Jungle Wurm more HP would actually make them somewhat more interesting. Right now their damage output does not matter, as they do not have time to show it. We do not even know what kind of damage the fire ele could deal if it lived over 10 seconds.

Frozen Maw shaman on the other hand? A lot of hp, but absolutely no defense against the zerg.

At launch the the fire elemental used to absolutely crush people. People died so often they were fighting naked. Even before Megaservers it was a tough boss that regularly downed and killed people. The Maw was the same. He would roam around the lake and if down and kill those who weren’t paying attention or didn’t dodge in time. Now because he is swarmed by so many, he doesn’t move from his spot. You never get to see what he can actually do.

While I really like the Megaservers for making the maps more lively, I don’t like what they do to world bosses. Maybe those would be better if they were in some kind of instanced map with a lower population cap.

Original Fire Ele, the memories….Same with the original Rhendak.

I like what was done with Teq. It was way hard at first, but very very doable with a well organized group. Once the tactics were down and known to the general public, just like raids and other such group content in other games, it became much easier to win. Teq also has rather good rewards, even if you don’t get one of the rare items (unlike TT Wurm).

I also enjoyed the smaller group type world bosses we had before megaservers when my home server was mostly deserted. You would get 5-15 people at best, and you got to see and experience the different mechanics of the bosses , without the crazy scaling that happens now (ie Caledon Wurm dying too fast, while Mark II takes 10 minutes to whittle down its health).

I loved logging in in the middle of a night just to solo the Elemental on my high pop server. Doing the Claw with like 10 people was also mighty fun, lots of blood, suffering and sometimes even armor repair costs (!)…

One thing I have been saying since launch is that open world bosses must be tuned to a very low skill level.

Otherwise you get people coming into the fight not knowing the mechanics but causing it to scale up thus making it exponentially harder for everyone else per person who shows up.

That being said some months back Arena.net put out a memo that they were looking for designers with previous experience designing instanced raid content.

Hopefully this means at some point in the future the game will have instanced raids with a decent level of difficulty & reward.

Yeah. Removal of the repair costs, the worldwide low level nerf which made it overly easy to solo Kholer in Catacombs (THE FRIGGIN, ALWAYS-SKIPPED KHOLER), burying the bosses under the megaserver masses, heck, burying every single event in the game and making it an autowin click-a-thon, more or less! For me the possibility of losing is an indispensible element of any game. And it has been removed from most of the GW2 open world content. Because losing is confusing, I guess.

Before April GW2 was pretty much the best MMORPG I’ve ever played and I’ve been playing those since the early years of Ultima Online. Now it’s just an addiction to logging in for 10 minutes and doing the dailies. EQN will replace this, I hope.
