There was some discussion about when the final part of the HOT story took place, with some in game conversation during the mouth of mordremoth fight indicating that the story had already taken place.

I`ve been doing the story for the third time now and it looks like there is some adjustment and alteration going on to reset this. During the hearts and minds story, where we climb rotating section, the mouth is now plainly visible and its status is that which we see after the dragons stand meta is completed.

This would mean that its now official that the story conclusion comes at the end of all the metas of the heart of thorns map including dragons stand and that seems new.

I have also noticed some revoicing, especially where the exalted used to have normal voices, they now have their spooky ethereal ones. Are there any other story touch ups like this that have gone on?

We made it brain death, after all.

Well, people spoke to Laranthir in dragons stand and he was specifically speaking about it being that way. The player character asks him why the fight is still going on and laranthir says “you may have killed the dragon, but parts of its mindless hunger remain”. Or something similar.

That never really sat well with me.

Canach’s dialogue during the story mission implies that the fight against the Mouth is happening at the same time while we get to Trahearne and fight Mordremoth’s mind.

Konig des Todes said that Laranthir’s dialogue makes no sense lorewise and if anyone knows it, than Konig des Todes.

I also noticed the change in the second last mission at the “dna” rotating section, but I just thought that this is to make it harder (at higher levels of the dna string) to avoid the tendril aoes. I haven’t really looked at it, so I’m not sure if it’s really the Mouth or just some random obstacle.
My second guess is that Anet’s trying to bring those events in a different order and struggle because they totally lost the oversight over their creation, at least lorewise.

this reminds me about the personal story and how they screwed up the chapter orders for no good reason in a way that it sometimes does not make sense now lol
