Kind of worried about that too. That place is stunning.

Things change. Doesn’t mean they get better
Personally I don’t mind if they do something to the pact camp in Timberline, It will just be another reason for visiting that zone, which I think is one of the most beautiful zones in the game

In due time, all will serve the asura.

You know, you’re not really supposed to want these things to happen. You’re supposed to feel a sense of loss when it happens. After an entire season of the living story, I think it should be pretty clear at this point that nothing is sacred.

That’s a good thing really. It’s much more reflective of how things operate when “the lands are in dire peril” and whatnot.

Plus, you get to go all hot an vengeful when they blow up your favorite stuff. I was extremely involved in the LA fighting because I liked that place so much. It felt right and made me feel just a tiny bit closer to my character in that time.

Luckily, it seems that adding new zones is going to be a regular occurrence now as well, so there should be no shortage of new favorite places to discover in time as well.

Problem with this, is that normally if you don’t want something to happen…you stop it.

The living story is completely out of our hands, we have no control, we can’t stop anything, it is all planned out and we are just the puppets…that is the most disappointing part of the “living” story.

I have two concerns regarding this. One, I hope it’s not done in an arbitrary manner. I hope it’s not simply a case of “hey, let’s muck X zone up in the Living Story just to shake things up.” I hope any changes to a map stem from organic reasons, they’re in line with and enhance the story.

Two, I hope they’re not changed in a way that make a zone less enjoyable. Many of the Toxic Offshoots that still persist (for some unexplained reason) in the starting zones are death traps for unaware new adventurers. The difficulty of these events is not in line with the rest of the zone. That’s not good, in my opinion.

You know, you’re not really supposed to want these things to happen. You’re supposed to feel a sense of loss when it happens. After an entire season of the living story, I think it should be pretty clear at this point that nothing is sacred.

Except for Marjory, and presumably the rest of the Destiny’s Edge members (both versions). Even when they want to, the writers just can’t find it within themselves to kill them off.

Do you really care all that much? How much do you actually go to Timberline to do things? It’s just one of those maps that are never really visited after finishing your personal story and hitting 80.

Though I would agree with you that it is a gorgeous zone, I would prefer Mord destroys Dredgehaunt myself, now THAT is an ugly map.

You can’t get involved if absolutely everything that you do is completely pointless, "living" story lacks an kind of player agency.

I go there all time, mostly mat farming, but sometimes just for a runaround, because it’s breathtakingly beautiful. Really the most beautiful of all the maps I think. Although I must admit that its feeling of serenity is enhanced by there being comparatively few other people there, so I understand the view that it’s under-used.

I think the camp is all that is being destroyed. doubt the whole zone would be affected, that would make no sense.
Mordremoth attacking concordia to strike at the pact, though; Makes a lot of sense.

I used to HATE Timberline because there were so few events – felt like a waste of time to even go to it.

Then Platinum, Hard Wood, and Sharp Claw prices rose…

I sort of hope the Dragons start destroying everything. It would make the living world more exciting. I agree that Timberline is beautiful, though. Moordy needs to smash Rata Sum!

While its fun to get things wrecked, the world only has so many nice areas. If everything is just destroyed crap, it’s not going to be much fun. I like interesting and beautiful environments. The game needs more big fantastical cities and beautiful zones, not less.

It’s my personal favorite. So I’m interested in seeing us go back there and what will be shown.

However, I do admit that Kissex Hills was done poorly. For the event it was cool but now it’s all gray and flat where the Tower was. Would have liked to see the place grow back around the destruction at least.
