Isn't story mode solo play?
Ur kidding right? I did this stuff on zerk tempest and it was pretty smooth. Perhaps u should lay off the necro for a bit, shroud and minion tanking creates but habbits.
Did it with my staff condi necro with no real issues. So far it’s actually been the easiest prof I’ve done it with. Just go heavy AoE, found the best luck with that.
If minionmastering isn’t working for you there, possibly try a different build? I know I started enjoying necro a lot more when I got out of the mindset of always running minions and branched out into other builds.
The Magma Elementals are nasty, but thus far I’ve found them soloable as long as you don’t get too many adds. The lava hitting over a wider area than the lava graphic is more of a pain to me, to be completely honest.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
If you ran a condi build with Parasitic Contagion, you’d have no issues at all staying alive. I managed to solo all the story content just fine with a Meditrapper DH. If you’re having issues, you probably need to address your build/play style.
I dumped MM for Blood, not the best option but made up for the lack of minions. It just really annoys me that for many professions I play changing traits means needing new gear. Luckily for the necro it wasn’t super detrimental too bad that wasn’t case for other professions. Despise the projectile hate of Doric. After the last few and way too much spent on regearing I have only one of each class and elite.
Yeah, I have to say that was one of the things that really disappoints me about GW2’s stat system. Having the stats affixed to gear (rather than something on your character that can be freely switched around) makes changing builds harder than it really should be in a franchise that has generally been designed around adjusting your build according to what you expect to face. Granted, GW1 often had some gear-swapping when you changed builds, but it wasn’t so important to do so, and you could often achieve significant changes by changing one piece.

Did it on minionless power reaper (in valkyrie gear though, guilty as charged). Died only at Lazarus because I didn’t recognize his spam mechanic. Gonna agree with poster #2 – necros create a lot of bad habits, and minion master doubly so.
Managed it without too much trouble on Ranger, but yeah, that boss fight with the burning squares basically took away my pet for all intents and purpose. Basically a vast amount of my DPS went out the window.
