Since Aurene is still technically a dragon – even if she isn’t an Elder Dragon (Yet. give her a few thousand years, she’ll grow into it.) – and The Commander is her chosen defender, does this technically make The Commander a Dragon Champion?
Also, Dragons Watch is technically living up to it’s namesake now. Just some odd thoughts that occurred to me.
It’s possible this could be our ‘ending’ for the game in the far future, if they don’t make Aurene evil or kill her off. She ends up becoming the last dragon, keeping balance of magic for Tyria, and the Commander is basically made immortal to serve as her Champion forever.

That, or Aurene hasn’t picked her part of the magic spectrum yet. I’m placing my bet on “Life” magic – the speciality Monks used to have – but I don’t know if that would even work. Maybe there’s already a Life Elder Dragon out there, “killing” people with holy damage.

Well we don’t have a sky/lightning dragon yet, so it may be she becomes the ‘dwayna’ equivalent of the Elder Dragons.
Oh my please make this the official ending. I would never stop playing this game.
Becoming Aurenes eternal dragon champion has been my dream since we were told that we are the eggs champion <3
Hoping for some “you are dragons champ we dont trust you” or any different reaction once the world spreads or the corruption becomes visible (after all the pc is already consuming massive amounts of bloodstone, unstable magic.. Had the egg inside him/her and is generally mind connected/controlled by Aurene)
It could eventually make the fact that we can ressurect as the pc at waypoints legit lorewise and storywise. (waypoints are bassicaly rides on ley line energy- dragons use line energy to preserve themselves- so could the champions.. Aka Teq, shatterer.. The Commander…)
Pc could accualy die in the story and rise again as the champion.(happened in gw1 so why not again)
(Also the random screams in ember bay and in bloodstone fen are brilliant, they add to the immersion, and its not just silence all the time now.
hope for some other voiced changed or random things-such as weird blurrs in the corner of the screen like with blind condition effect, hearing whispers from the dragon like sylvari with modremoth, as the dragon corruption spreads through the pcs body…)
Maybe the screams are moments when our characters realize they’re becoming their worst nightmare (dragon minions) and try to fight against it, only to discover that resistance is incapable of producing any result; ineffective; useless; not successful.

Would be cool too! But could be even better if th epc couldnt see themselves turning but everybody else would see the change and try to tell him/her but to no avail..
Also it would be a great way to end gw2 for a new start with gw3, how much more would we wnt to protect Aurene knowing our character from gw2 (who could get corrupted so much we couldnt tell the race and gender so no one would flip out about it not beight theyr commander)
Or if we fought aurene as the new evil main anthagonist of gw3 and had a final bossfight with our character from gw2? Both could definitely make it really interesting one day.
Is the explanation why my character randomly screams out of nowhere in the LS3 maps because of Aurene? Or something more… sinister?
The random screaming happens after you’ve collected a certain amount of unbound magic— much like the bloodstone crazed. I agree with the theory that those who collect the bloodstones and the unbound magic are effected by it. I’m curious how far it will creep into our characters and what other tics it may cause.

That is the most logical ending. The only twist I can see is if that does NOT happen.
