These new encounters, and even the old ones, are all pretty great. But when there’s too many people you get screwed into the overflow. What is the point of having a server that you can plan things out with if you are forced off any time you want to do a major group event. I have yet to kill even Teq and god knows the same problem will continue with this stupid worm. It is time to rework your servers so that we can actually play with our server.

Comparing it to mass-scale multiplayer games like PlanetSide seems a bit unfair since I (without having played it) am going to assume that PlanetSide takes place on huge battlegrounds where the players are split out in several factions rather than fighting on the same small location.
Big events like Tequatl or Marionette is already tough for PCs that aren’t top-tier, but even if that weren’t an issue, having hundreds of players right on top of each other would be still be weird.

I certainly agree that the overflow system is getting old. An MMO is supposed to immerse the player in a virtual world. By that definition, I would say that every time you arrive in an overflow, it means the game messed up. It is refreshing to have an MMO that integrates its bosses in the actual world rather than just putting them inside an instance (which is usually twenty times larger on the inside than outside). But it is paradoxal that the overflows means that they are pretty much instanced anyway.
Overflows are unavoidable when the game released or when new content arrives. But it is rather annoying that I am still seeing overflows for Teq. We can only hope that the overflows for Marionette will get better when everything calms down.

So you would rather be stuck in queues unable to play at all for several hours?

I don’t think you get WHY overflows exist >.>
Playing with “your server” actually doesn’t make a difference to playing with people in an overflow anyway.

Either way the majority of them are random people. If there are enough people then there’s no reason to complain – and usually there are.

People just like to blame being in an overflow for their failure, the truth is that you’re just as likely to fail in the actual server zone…

Overflows suck. You only end up there when you get disconnected from your server that is actually winning only to land in an overflow that failed 2 minutes into the event and have to constantly click “Join in Lornar’s Pass” hoping that someone else disconnected as well and you can take their spot.

Overflows suck. I’m tired of doing most of the fight, only to get disconnected by some random lag and have all of my hard work thrown out the window and get no reward like I wasn’t even there.

Kumu, without the overflow, you would be disconnected and you wouldn’t be able to log in at all. Your hard work would still be thrown out the window and you wouldn’t even be able to play at all.

Queues are not better than overflows.
