Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
Mr. "E"??

I was under the impression we were supposed to learn the identity of “E” in Season 2. Did I just kitten and miss it?
Who is “E”??
I don’t think we are supposed to know or find out yet. The only official statements I recall about E are either very vague or basically boiled down to, “We know exactly who he is. We have known since the beginning”.
They did say that around season finale we will learn the identity of E. I’m expecting an epilogue after this which will reveal it.

They said that they would reveal it someday, specificly they mentioned that there was no plan for it yet. They never said it would be revealed in the final ep.
It’s a big mystery!!!..
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

Mr. E..mystery..haha.. I was going to insert an Edward Nigma joke, but I haven’t finished my coffee yet.
Evon Gnashblade
E is for expansion.
Evon Gnashblade
I doubt it. The style is completely different.

That’s because he’s a lot like Batman.
Rich fella Evon to the public. Heroic “E” in secret.

No Marjory is more . . .
Wait.
Marjor E . . .
. . . hmmm.
Mister E grabbed Marjory Delaqua from behind and proposed a working relationship that she “wouldn’t forget.”
My money on Arnold right now.
This is apparently what made me think that this would be resolved at the end of Season 2:
Oh well, plans change and stuff happens. If the reveal really didn’t fit in with this season and wasn’t included then so be it. I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss something that was actually there.
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
It’s Ellen Kiel.
It’s Ellen Kiel.
It had better not be. I voted for her assuming she wasn’t underhanded enough to run a private and secret information ring with unknown goals. Evon seems more the type that way, but he also seems the type to be climbing on rooftops and proclaiming himself a champion of right and demanding support.
It’s Ellen Kiel.
A possiblity.

I believe Marjory identified E as being male on her short story.
It must also either be human or sylvari, since she would immediately recognize the arms of someone of another race, which was all that she saw, if I remember it correctly. I have to find that short story and re-read it.
Here it is!

Alright, she just said E has a deep voice and wrapped his arms around her. She saw nothing.

Is there a direct reference to ‘E’ being a mister as in male? A deep voice does not mean ‘E’ must be male. At the least, the person who accosts Marjory could have been disguising their voice.
Consider how Marjory reacts to ‘E’…
" Arms wrapped so intimately around me that my fight or flight instincts never kicked in."
Would Marjory react that way to a man?

Personally , I think E is Ellen Kiel , she has been less prominent in the storyline , and might be hiding it . I don’t think E is a man for some reason . Probably because of the thing w Marjory
All right, enough speculation.
It’s been me all along. I’m Mr. E. That mysterious stranger in episode 6, before the teragriff? I’ve been watching you all for a very long time, just rarely seen.
I’ve been guiding your steps for a very long time now.
I’m changing my vote to: “Mr E” isn’t a person at all.
We all know skritt communicate with each other, and that makes them smarter when they’re together, right? Well, what if there’s a slower version of that, too? Ideas that sort and sift through them, like a meme passing through a group of people. Something happens, and it clicks on some small level that “this is important” or at least “that’s kind of interesting or odd”. So, when they meet the next skritt, it gets passed along, and they pass it to others.
The information changes and grows as it passes along, possibly encountering other “odd” bits of information traveling in the same way. Ideas fit together, and little bits of seemingly unrelated information fit together and suddenly, out of nowhere, comes something major.
Now, the skritt that has this happen in his head may not know WHY they’re suddenly doing something, and in fact that may even make them forget all about their actions later. But for that moment, the knowledge is there, and they act upon it. Maybe it makes them send a letter to someone. Maybe it makes them grab someone from behind (if they’re one of the larger skritt), and whisper something in their ear. Maybe it makes them drink a potion of human transformation and go into a cave to observe events.
Mr E can’t be tracked and doesn’t come forward because there is no “Mr E”. It’s just a very spread out and slow hive mind at work in countless bodies.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
I doubt even Anet knows who E is.

I doubt even Anet knows who E is.
Maybe. Or maybe we are simply not supposed to know.
Maybe Mr. E is supposed to always be just that. A mystery.

E ,,, is the Eternal Alchemy speaking to you.
It’s Trahearne. Marjory and Trahearne are more intimate than people know! Oh, what would Kasmeer think!
I had a pet theory that Evon and Ellen got word of trouble independently and hatched a scheme to work together. In order to throw off suspicion they acted as rivals, which worked in their favour when a position on the captain’s council where they found themselves in a competition that appeared fierce enough to scare of other potential candidates, but no matter what happened one of them would end up on council. Even the story of Marjory’s encounter with E could work if Ellen grabbed Marjory and Evon spoke.
Both of them warned that Lion’s Arch would be the focus of an attack, and up until then my theory seemed sound. However Evon fleeing Lion’s Arch and locking the gate behind him doesn’t fit so well.

It looked like he did that, but later the Captain in charge of the gates claims she shut them down. She may not have been talking about THAT gate, but how would Evon shut down an asura gate, anyway?
I like your theory, it’s more likely than any of mine, but still interesting.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
Hopefully Mr. E got no E in his name at all, just to annoy people.
I hate Ellen Kiel and I will be disappointed if such a ’’cool’’ character like E ends up being the old shallow Ellen.

Bit late with this, but Ellen or Evon being E is highly unlikely… unless we assume that the Evon/Ellen vote was entirely fixed. Which would be a shame, and unlikely to remain unconfirmed for this long if it was (as in a company as big as ANet it would have to be a conspiracy of the entire company, and such things have a tendency to come out over time and the enthusiasm about the vote would have been hard to fake convincingly).
The only way either of them would end up as E is if regardless of player choice the one chosen would end up as E, however, they are too different characters to make it easy to keep the story cohesive and planned ahead long term if there was such a potential variable. Likewise if one of them is slated for E regardless of whether they would end up in the council or not would be another variable that makes this setup unlikely as well for the very same reasons.
My personal favorite for E regardless all the above is Evon though, but I don’t think it likely just that based on his short story he would make a good E. That said I don’t think the letter necessarily has any link with the persons first name as it risks being too obvious. Or then it does and they are counting us to think it is too obvious but that hamster wheel of reasoning seems a bit over the top.
I believe E could be Lord Faren. Most of E’s activity centers around Divinity’s Reach and human politics, and Faren would fit the cliché of bored playboy by day, secret hero by night.
Another suspect could be Logan Thackeray. This is also based on the notion that E is most active in Divinity’s Reach, as well as the fact that Logan was actually the one to hire Marjory to investigate Captain Theo Ashford’s death during Dragon Bash. (Marjory only knew him by reputation and was surprised he wanted to deal with her – or even knew her.)
I still say it’s Ellen Kiel. I hear crossplay is all the rage these days. Women passing as men, or pretending to be male for whatever reason, it’s simply deception and misdirection to hide the truth. It’s Ellen Kiel. The plot thickens. DUN DUN DUN!
