One of the world leaders is hanging on, between the border of life and death. An entire race may potentially die out, if she dies. She was once significant enough that she managed to hold a conference of the leaders of the free world when others said it could not be done. She also sings the GW2 theme song “fear not this night”.

Could be considered to be quite an important character.

This being the pale tree, who was put in a coma before the last expansion as part of that expansions living story and who is still, apparently, in a coma and nearly dead, but nobody actually cares enough about that to mention it in the living story. We may even go into the next expansion with her still in this situation.

Please, someone on the story team tell me that this is going to be resolved in some way without Sylvari and other concerned players having to wait till the next expac?

Will it even be resolved in the expac?

Very worried that this is just being forgotten or put at the back of the queue.

<Character name>: How is she after Mordremoth’s death?
Caithe: Ailing, but recovering. Although, not well enough to…give me the guidance I needed.

Amusing side note: If you’re doing the Quip collection, one of the things you need to do is throw confetti at the Pale Tree. If you do this, she immediately gets up and /threatens you. So don’t worry, she’s perfectly fine!

The Sylvari race won’t die if she does. I mean they were spawned from Mordremoth and they still lived after his death.

not forgotten, abandoned. Since she’s a purified mordrem champion and mordremoth is dead she’s no longer relevant to any story, so you can just delete all your sylvari, they won’t be mentioned anymore.

Yep this on my Sylvari rev ^^^^^

Im finding it harder to log in to play this game. I havent for the past week because i know im get some silly AP missions for further the story line. Probably end 1 of the 8 story lines they got going while adding 5 more.

These side comments of ohh she will be fine, is the laziest form of story telling which is why ive considered moving on.

I mean with PvP becoming what its been, WvW has had nothing added to it for years and PvE just becoming grind new maps for the new shinys and very lack luster story.

I mean there was so much to Gw2 core game. HOT has been such a big disappointment for me.

Her decision to withold important imformation about mordremoth, contributing to the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands, ensures that. Once she has recovered a reckoning is in order.

Existing sylvari won’t die, but there will be no new generations unless there’s something in the sylvari life cycle that we don’t know about… and given that the sylvari were intended to be dragon minions, that makes the theory that sylvari eventually “mature” and become trees themselves unlikely.

Which means that, unless there’s a replacement Tree, sooner or later the sylvari race would die out.

That’s pretty much the subplot of Where Life Goes. Some elements of the Nightmare Court would like to see the Pale Tree dead so she can no longer push the sylvari towards Ventari’s teachings, but if she’s killed, it’s dooming the sylvari race to extinction. If they knew about another tree, though, they might consider killing the Pale Tree and turning their attention on the second Tree.

We’re not allowed to make Caithe answer for that, so I’m sure the Pale Tree will be “forgiven” just as easily.

Personally, I want to at least throw a certain broken sword at her feet while congratulating her on her devotion to keeping her beloved children so “safe”.

I actually think the writing has been poor so far this season. Supposedly, we’ve formed a new guild, but never do anything with them. That is dumb.

Caithe is a different story. Mordremoth toyed with her mind, she can’t be held responsible for it and has apologized a dozen times already — so enough of that.

As for the Pale Tree keeping the secret: had she been conscious at the time that Mordremoth’s power grew to such destructive potential, she probably would have done something about it. But being as it is, her “children” were weakened by her unconscious state. Was it wise to keep this a secret? Hard to say, but she did tell it at least one Firstborn, who unfortunately was murdered. And Caithe promissed not to tell anyone. You can make of that what you will, it’s a complicated matter if you ask me.

I wonder if another Dragon will take a shot at the Pale Tree before she is fully recovered. Being able to take out the leader of one of the 5 races in Tyria would be a huge blow to the forces trying to kill the Elder Dragons, so it would be a smart move on their part to try to take her out
