Guild Wars 2

… going to be a series of Living World events every two weeks? Because of so, I’d like to share my thoughts about this. For me, the most fun aspect of the game was the Personal Story (before I discovered the “your world, your story” marketing one liners hide a “your story up to lv30 order choice”), and when I was leveling my first character at GW2 relase with world exploration, it was always about “When can I finally continue the story, I want that 3 levels rushed now!”. Now that the game design seems to be completely built around the living world concept, I fear that it’s going to be the same but much much MUCH worse, with basicly 2 weeks between each story step (or even more when we get back SAB… oh how I hate that thing), and that would be truly awful and demotivating. The last 3-4 living world updates lasted for about 2-3 days for me, and after the first day it really felt like a “must” to do because otherwise I’ll miss something I may regret later.

How I play GW2? Well, completed everything in the world, not interested in PvP, barely in WvW, PvE literally didn’t expand at all for 1.5 years now (fractals and a new dungeon path for TW is far from enough), and now I don’t even want to play GW2. Still I do from time to time for some reason, guess because I have no better alternative for now. A new personal story would be the perfect path for me that leads back to the game, but if this “personal” story will be like “zerg farming pve events” nonstop with a 5 minute story every two weeks updated… GW2 is dead, for me at least. I’m not going to whine for a real expansion, there are enough threads about that already. Just wanted to leave my concerns here, open for discussion.

Every time I see a new thread demanding a new expansion, I always wonder “Why has no one created a thread demanding a new expansion before now?”.

Probably because it’d spawn thousands of other threads asking for a new expansion.

I did not demand an expansion. You may think it is “by default”, but noone said a new personal story requires an expansion. I’d be fine with a new story in the current enviroment.

How do you plan on getting this personal story? You’ve already stated that getting in the living story is unacceptable. The only choice left is an expansion.
