One thing I noticed was Braham using an animation I don’t recognize and I don’t recall them having any unique animations. (Unique skills yeah but not animations)

Likely of course just a simple pre-rendered cut scene, but who knows.

Mechanics wise it could be earthshaker, the hammer burst skill. Theme wise, it’s Braham going hulk smash on a golem. Whatever it was, it was fun to watch. Braham should get some bonus Hero points for that one.

I hope we will get a new zone next week, but I think it’s best, for storytelling reasons to set everything up in Brisban for this release, and then in the next patch, we make a move into the new zone for whatever reason.

I’d love to see that but I seriously doubt that any company would be able to pull that off especially when we look at the maps that we already have, they are all incredibly detailed and beautiful you can’t produce those kinds of maps in such a short timespan (not talking about the 2 weeks)

There was a dedicated team who was working on a desert since launch.

You got a source on that?

Dont think they ever came out and said that straight but what they did say since at least january 2013 was that there are 2 teams working on big long term projects. They kept mentioning these 2 big projects in development since the last interviews about the LS Season 1 ending just a couple of months ago. Its logical to conclude though not unequivocally of course that at least 1 of the big projects was about new zones.

Some parts of gw1 maguuma are very boring, tons of rocks, and death trees, in barren wastelands. I hope those parts are kept to a minimum in gw2. Focus on the true maguuma ‘JUNGLE’ parts

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

Well major problem there is a lot of the old maguuma jungle according to the lore dried up in the last 250 years so there is more wastelands then jungle now

I don’t think ArenaNet ‘hypes’ too much. If anything, they give little information, really. A teaser trailer than may suggest some things that will (or can) happen in the future. Seems most of the hype comes from the playerbase (which may be their plan).

when they said an exspansion amount of material in one release last year id say that was overhype and the reason why they arent allowed to say much

They never actually said an expansion’s worth of content in one release.

Here is a quote from Colin:

“… but we absolutely are going to do sweeping new features that you would traditionally only get in expansions – large regions, content and progression additions to your characters in the form of growth and professions and races. Those are all things that you will see in the lifespan of Guild Wars 2.”

I’ll tell you a secret. Anet decided to stop writing preview pages prior the release because of numerous reasons (in-game economic-wise, spoiler-wise, etc). We only get teasers like this one.

Next point: This is freaking Season 2! It’s Anet way of distributing a true datadisk. It was confirmed that new updates will be permanent. They need to attract back their players and there is no better way of doing it, than by Grand introduction of 2 new regions (by opening the first zone in Maguuma Wastes region). The patch need to be big and beyond players’ expectations to create OMG I LOVE ANET effect.

Story wise: The story concentrates around our new group of NPC heroes who are mainly investigators and thus, there must be some new secret villain and unexpected twists (taking down of Zephirites).

All in all, this first S2 update is created to blow our minds. However, we will have to see if Anet manages to pull this off without any major bugs, errors, instabilities, and other issues we’ve experienced in the former big patches.
fingers crossed

And you think developers don’t spoil it to trading guilds? or are doing insider traiding
