Guild Wars 2

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I completed the Divine Fire phase and I’m now sitting with Rox, Marjory, Kasmeer and Braham with tons of Malformed Shadows spawning endlessly. It doesn’t matter how many I kill, no matter what I do they keep spawning. And on top of all that the dragon is invulnerable!

What do I do? Did I do something wrong? I’m just standing here taking minimal damage from the shadows as I type this, confused as all get-out…

did you get this sorted out? I am trying to get past this part but cant beat the shadow dragon alone. im looking for help but no one wants to help :P

i really hope I dont have issues once I get in to finish it. i really just want the lost bandit chest for home instance is why im trying to complete it.

Were you using a melee weapon? I’ve been reading complaints that only ranged weapons hit the dragon even if you get up in his face.

I think the shadows are irrelevant, you just want to burn the dragon as fast as you can before you get tossed back into Divine Fire lighting.

It’s a problem with the dragon’kittenbox introduced a month or so back. The hitbox is now quite small and on the top of the dragon’s (always moving) head. You can no longer hit it with melee weapons and many aoe skills . Use ranged skills that shoot targeted projectiles.

I got it sorted out. I made a bug report on the bug forums (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Blocking-Progress-The-Mystery-Cave/first#post4980749) but no input, but I not-fixed it myself. I just tried the instance again one day and suddenly it was fixed and I could progress. Yes, I was using a melee weapon on the Dragon itself. It just happened to be a really random bug.
