What do you think after a year of LS?
There has been some great content. But there’s the problem. When friends ask me is the game worth getting. I tell them about the living story. Which is a good selling point. But the. When I tell them about the fact that if they got the game there and then. They would NEVER get to play that content. It’s gone! They seem less interested. After getting 5 friends to buy guild wars, guild wars 2 has attracted zero of my friends. After they all loved Guild Wars.
I my self have had fun. But the inability to play the content at your own pace has ment I’ve missed out on a lot of it. Not to mention the mass of bugs that keep being introduced.
But if I compair this with that we had by this point in Guild Wars life, we had a lot more. Not to mention a better story that you could follow.

A handful of good updates in a sea of mediocrity content updates, so little permanent content it could be counted on a single hand, terrible story lines, and poorly written characters so…
It’s not been a good year.
I cant lie. The constant updates have kept me logging in. In spite of my growing apathy towards the game itself. I guess that counts as a success.
I guess if I had to put it simply, I’m playing more than I probably would have under an expansion… but as a gamer I’m much less satisfied with the LS strategy so far.
I’ve given zero dollars to the company since the game purchase. I’d pay for expansions.
From that perspective, I think A-net is following a failure of a business model.
Time will tell.
This. Perhaps LS is building up to a forth coming expansion release. I’m not sure. But I would happily spend another $50 on a new campaign. Heck, if it included a new playable race or profession, I’d probably buy a character slot or two. But LS on it’s own isn’t inspiring me to open my wallet. At least not yet.
