DISCLAIMER: I didnt get to experience season 1 of the living world so call me out on my mistakes please. Thank you

Since we call our little group “B-iconics” I was like “so these guys will go with us, but what about the other prominent characters?” IMO opinion these characters are:

Evon Gnashblade
Ellen Kiel
Magnus the Bloody handed
Hero-Tron
Canach

Personally I found the story of these characters enjoyable, don’t get me wrong I like the biconics, they are okay. But if I had to choose I would want the head of the lionguard, his second in command with Captain’s status thanks to my contribution, the boss of the BLTC, a medic golem with scanners, and a crafty atoning sylvari adventuring with me.

I am going off topic my question is this: what do you think A-net will do with these characters?

We know that Evon will use Hero-Tron as a spy on the Council
and there’s another Evon Gnashblade in the city. Will that be part season 3 of the Living World? Part of the HoT story mode? As much as I want it to happen I don’t think these characters will venture into the jungle. The only exception is Canach which I hope that we get to see how he joins our little group, if not then its poor storytelling.

Some have pointed that there might be trouble between the Consortium and the BLTC. Or that the Consortium will buy the BLTC services.

Magnus’ dialogue might imply a future conflict between Seraph and Lionguard forces:
“They can walk the plank. Divinity’s Reach has the time to hunt for a golem, but it doesn’t have time to help Lion’s Arch when Scarlet attacks? And after this city hosted a relief effort for them during Wintersday?”

What do you all think?

You’re Overplaying Their Importance

Keep in mind that part of the reason for Kasmeer, Marjory, Braham, Rox, and Taimi being labeled the B-Iconics is because they’re all sort of related in some way to the “Iconics”, that is, Destiny’s Edge. One of the issues with your proposal is that the characters you mentioned do not have such a connection, and I think you are overplaying their role in the story as well.

Characters like Kiel, Evon, and Magnus are big characters, don’t get me wrong (in-fact, Kiel and Magnus have a history with each other going all the way back to when Kiel was a child. You wouldn’t know that by simply playing through Season 1 even if you did). However, there are equally as big characters with relatively the same amount of prominence in the story as well, such as Vorpp.

Some Equally Important Characters You Might Have Left Out

I’m genuinely surprised to this day that Vorpp is not listed as one of Season 1’s major characters on the official wiki, but perhaps that’s because his importance was overshadowed by his rare appearances. Still, without Vorpp’s help, we would have never driven Scarlet out of the Crown Pavilion, and we would have never discovered that Scarlet was planning to attack Lion’s Arch or the reasons as to why.

And it’s not like Vorpp was a Season 1 character only, he was featured near the end of Season 2 as well. But as I said, his importance is equal to that of Kiel and Evon, even if he isn’t really noticed much. Arguing that those characters should be the C-Iconics is rather arbitrary anyway. After all, Hero-Tron is much more easily paired with Marcello DiGiacomo, since those two have been together ever since Hero-Tron was Hobo-Tron.

The Evon Gnashblade Look-Alike?

Also, about the second Evon Gnashblade, I suspect that to be a joke about how players will often make lookalikes of prominent story figures. Hell, I once saw 5 players all dressed up and named after each member of Destiny’s Edge respectively. It happens all the time, and people have even made Scarlet Briar (AKA “Ceara”) look-alikes.

My Thoughts On Possible Future Story Elements

Putting the whole Evon look-alike to the side, there are some interesting points you made. Yes, Magnus’ dialogue makes it seem like there will be Lionguard/Seraph conflict, but I suspect it will be minor, just as it has in the past between Hero-Tron and the Seraph already. (Also, that dialogue is rather old, to be honest).

As for Evon using Hero-Tron to spy on the Council? I think that and the Consortium stuff might tie in to a future Living World arc, or it might end up being just some sidestory. Who knows, really. Apart from the Consortium supposedly buying out the BLTC, we don’t know much about it yet. I hardly expect it to be in the HoT story though.

Finally, as for Canach? We see him in Camp Resolve shortly before heading to the final climax of Season 2. Considering how Braham mentions ‘heading back to Camp Resolve’, my guess is we go there, find Canach, and he tells us that they already left, followed by a prompt “Oh, kitten!” reaction. (Yes, I manually typed out kitten. Might as well not fight the filter, eh?)

On the topic of Canach, the end cinematic shows him being attacked by what I assume to be Seraph (distinct Seraph sword in the scene) while protecting some sort of building. So I assume this is in Divinity’s Reach. He’s likely reporting to Anise when the great conversion happens, but does not seem affected. Then again, Canach does seem to have great willpower.

Either way, he’ll probably team up with us as staying in any major city would be very difficult for any Sylvari by then.

Joy to the world, ignorance is bliss

The Evon lookalike isn’t a joke about players making their own versions of characters. Rather, for several months before Lion’s Arch was officially rebuilt, Evon Gnashblade was in two places at once in Lion’s Arch. He was standing in the north by the trading post there as he always had, but he was also in Fort Marriner in the south enlisting Hero-Tron to be his spy. It was an oversight, when they plugged in the Evon in the fort to take part in the dialogue, they just forgot to remove the original Evon who’d always been there.

So the lookalike is their way okittennowledging their mistake in tongue-in-cheek fashion.

First, I am impressed you read far enough in to my post to see that. Second, I find it funny that the filter decided to censor the word “acknowledging”. Third, if what you typed is true, then that’s actually quite interesting.

But seriously, I figured most people wouldn’t read what I typed because it was so long. Thanks for proving me wrong!

Canach’s joining the biconics – see the end of the first HoT trailer, where he stands with Braham, Marjory, Kasmeer, Taimi, and Rox.

There is no such thing as ‘c-iconics’ – all those characters sans Hero-Tron were around before the biconics. And as Sorann said, the reason why the biconics are called such is because they have some tie to the iconics – the other reason they’re called such is because they’re 1 member from each race that is meant to replace Destiny’s Edge (aka the iconics) as the players’ NPC traveling party.

What you call the ‘c-iconics’ won’t be adventuring any time soon. Unlike DE and DE 2.0, they’re not adventurers – they’re politicians and businessmen. You have a greater chance of Anise joining the player in adventures. The only one – aside from Canach who’s joining the biconics by all indications (probably due to popular demand by the playerbase loving him so much – and incidentally hating the forced insults the PC gives him) – would be Hero-Tron. But he seems to be effectively under house arrest to keep safe from the Seraph and Consortium, and bribed by Evon to keep tabs on the Captain’s Council so him going out adventuring is unlikely.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I apologize, I thought DE 2.0 or “B-iconics” had the “B” in it because they were a group of secondary characters major characters. I only called this group of characters C-iconics because I saw them as major recurring characters. Would “allies” be a better term?

P.S. I agree with your quote, I see these characters more like politicians and it would be nice of the golem could come with us but on the other hand Hero-Tron has his separate arc now (spying on the council unwillingly and evading the seraph and consortium while we deal with the elder dragons) I hope he joins us in the future or complete his character arc and make him an assistant of Ellen Kiel or something.

Nah, if they were called biconics because they were a second group of major characters, they’d be more of d-iconics, as there are many major character groups that showed up before the first of them (Rox and Braham).

They’re biconics because they’re replacements for the iconics aka Destiny’s Edge, the original mentors of GW2. Which is one of the reasons why there is some dislike for them – they were brought in solely due to necessity to fill a role the voice actors of the iconics created (not being able to go to record frequently enough for the LWconcept).

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
