Guild Wars 2

Now that Scarlet’s dead, it brings to question—who will the next major villain be? With the jungle dragon awake, the Living Story probably won’t need a new villain for a while, but there’s bound to be one at some point.

So, what do you want in the next big baddie? Who are they? What is their motivation?

Ideas.
The White Mantle. We don’t know what they’re like today, but it would be interesting to find out.

A Vengeful Aetherblade. The Aetherblades were formed by villians from across Tyria. With their leader dead, they have to find new motivations. Maybe one of them could take the initiative and provide the Triad (NightCourt+Inquest+Bandits in Brisban Wildlands) with technology and leadership, to make them far more deadly.

A Son of Svanir. They have tons of potential for interesting lore and villians. Although, an SoS villain probably won’t happen until we focus on killing Jormag.

A Corrupted Female Norn. Perhaps she grew up among the SoS all her life, as a submissive servant woman. Until they beat her so badly she seemed dead. They throw her body out in the snow and abandon it. Still alive, she manages to drag herself, and comes to some Corrupt Ice Shards or something. She becomes this extremely powerful dragon minion who commands the SoS—they don’t realize the commander is female.

Mai Trin is still alive. But I hope there won’t be any lesser villains anymore. I wanna smash dragon heads

Another vegetable to make the top 3 annoying characters all sylvari.

The next villain will be Mordremoth’s Champion. In a twist, his champion won’t be a Dragon-Like being. It’ll be similar to one of the Mortal Races!

You know, this up there with Scarlet being a new incarnation of Abaddon. Did anyone notice that her helmet (aka Scarlet’s Veil) looked an awful lot like Abaddon?

I’ve also heard rumors that Scarlet is on her way to becoming the 7th God.

Since it looks like we’re going to be going to the Magumma some time soon, here are some other possible villians for the future LS:

— The White Mantle: This group has a historical connection to the Magumma.

— Faolain and her Nightmare Court: I can definitely see these guys returning for round 2 thanks to Mordremoth’s awakening. We would definately get more Faolain x Caithe stuff. It’s also possible that Caithe’s secret is that she is already part of the Nightmare Court in order to stay by her lover and that Caithe’s statement during the TA dungeon story was false.

— The Toxic Alliance: These guys could come back since they’re a buffed-up offshoot of the original Nightmare Court. If this happens, hopefully we’ll see get to know the leaders of the group, their goals now that Scarlet is gone, and the drama than ensues within.

Isgarren, Lazarus the Dire, Dhuum…just something interesting please.

Hopefully they’re done with the whole “jumbo-robots” and sci-fi sylvari kick, and ready to get back to being Guild Wars.

They renounced that title when they defiled the lore. I couldn’t agree more though, I just want to return to the fantasy setting already.

I’ve always liked the Aetherblades. I hope Mai Trin has taken over and that we see them again.

then I recommend watching it again. Plus I’d like to add that ANet doesn’t seem to be too good at building up villains if they are considered as persons. Sadly but I have to admit every single one in the game I’ve seen so far (100% world completition + following the living world since the first relase) just throw really really dumb one liners at you, like “You will be destroyed!”. Faolin, so far is the most interesting villain in the game but I haven’t seen her story and relationship (check out wiki, it’s a good read!) really expanded in the personal story on the side of Caithe, neither in TA.

The next villain will be called Violet, she will look just like Scarlet only with purple hair instead of red.

I am going to guess Mai Trin. She escaped to the mists and she seems to be being set up for a go at a comeback or something.

I expect the dragon arc to be a long running story, so… we will definitely hear about them, but that one is going to move slow, and probably not have a conclusion for a bit.

I do want to know how the other active dragons react to Mordremoth being handed a beneficial change in the leylines.

Hopefully we’ll get something familiar tied to the maguuma. I don’t care exactly what they do chose but as long as it is better written than Scarlet I’ll be satisifed.

I would like to see a Norn villain…

Picture this:

Everyone is in Maguuma fighting whatever Scarlet woke, and have left the Sons of Svanir to their own. Nobody is really thinking about them right now.

Braham is actually a Son of Svanir convert, and has mysteriously disappeared for a while. Nobody realizes he has gone back to his homeland and is beginning to take over the Shiverpeaks in a quest for land and glory (not to mention the rewards from Jormag) while everyone else is preoccupied elsewhere.

By the time anyone notices that there’s a new Svanir threat, he’s gained half of the Shiverpeaks and is eyeing Hoelbrak itself.

Meanwhile, Rox is so devastated by his betrayal, she becomes obsessed with destroying him and sets off to find Braham, and then Jormag himself for destroying her favorite Norn Friend.

Faolain should be a major antagonist in my opinion, since shes still alive since I last checked and could easily return for this Mordremoth scene, to be the back story for the advance into the Maguuma/Magus region.

This also gives us a chance to explore Caithe in depth, and possibly learn about that secret Scarlet bragged about knowing that Caithe didn’t seem happy about.

It would also be interesting to explore the possibility that Caithe could become a bad guy, temporarily or permanently, given her vulnerable love for Faolain being her one small flaw in a myriad of strengths.

Then again, one could also explore the possibility of the “redeemed” villain with Caithe trying to slowly bring Faolain back to the Dream and thus prove the dragon’s power is not absolute, nor the Nightmares.

As for secondary chars?

Canach, who could easily be re-corrupted given his fallibility and failures.

Mai-Trin, who I suspect will be a long reoccurring antagonist, mostly as a comic relief “great plans with often failed results” bad guy.
