A Race Dilemma....
Maybe play around with the different faces and the sliders in character creation and see what you can do?
You can actually make faces look pretty different from the default with the sliders, if you take the time to tweak everything.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Don’t use a Norn if you are doing jumping puzzles with your mesmer….they’re big oafs.
I have several of each race as they are my 2 fav races in GW2. My main is a Norn Guardian; I picked the Norn originally because of their culture and lore behind them. I felt as though the humans have this long history from GW1, the Norn’s lore was much more appealing to me. The only issue that I have with the Norn personally is that because of the way their model is, certain shoulder armor does not look right on them. Some pieces of armor will look either deformed, or too big, or may appear to be slightly floating (The vigil Heavy armor on the other hand looks a lot better on Norn than Human if you ask me for this very reason). The other common complaint I hear from people about Norn is that because of their size, their running animation is a bit slower than the smaller races. So even though you run at the same speed as everyone else, visually it feels slower. On the bright side for the Norn, you can make a mean looking character; you get tattoos and one of the best looking racial armors (T3 Heavy Norn armor) in the game. Also you can turn into a Bear and run half way (exaggerated) across the map with 1 skill.
The humans on the other hand have a good versatility as far as appearance and appear more modern and to what we are used to. They have a decent mix of armor as far as appearance and the ever so Popular T1 light armor for female. The downfall to humans in my opinion is that they are somewhat bland as far as flavor, and there are so many of them.
I have an insanely awesome charr Mesmer. Snow leopard fur with trickster armor. It looks so BA. Whats scarier than 4 full size charr bearing down on you? +1 if you also use warband support
