Hallo everyone,new player here. I am trying to decide which character to main. I am considering a thief or a revenant. I want a character with who i will invest much time and do everything in the game, a little pvp,mostly pve, wvw,map completion, achivement hunting(i am a completioninst) . So i need your help. With which of the two i can do the most?

Also about the revenant. Pros: i like the passive buffs, the concept of the character and the fact that he isn’t simple but not too complex,so won’t be bored too fast. I believe he has more diversity than the thief,i could be wrong. Cons: i read online that he is in a bad state right now and one of the characters that teams don’t want in their composition, is this true and at what degree? Will i be “stuck” with him at the end game?

About the thief. Pros: i like his awesome mobility and damage. Always according to online sourses he has more chance finding teams.
Cons:Little utility. I think he is a little too simple(boring) pve wise? Very squishy. Not much variety (?)

Long story short: i want a fun character, with who i’ll will be able to do everything and that i won’t find my character “lacking” or highly inferior at any aspect of the game.

My biggest piece of advice is never listen to online advice on what your favourite class should be. If you like the revenant more than the thief, play that more. If you like the thief more, that should be your main. If you can use the mechanics better one way than the other, that should be the one you stick with.

As far as solo play, PvP or WvW, you should always be able to find something to do. Sadly, party play might be more difficult because people can be very opinionated on what they feel should be in a group and refuse to listen to reason. That’s not your fault, and there’s little you can do to change that.

It sounds like you like revenant more than thief. the boon sharing is quite nice. It’s frowned upon in raids right now but any other content you should be fine. As far as build diversity the two are about even. I personally find the flexibility of the revenant legends more interesting.
