Any reason why I keep seeing the work kitten randomly in posts?
The forum filter replaces offensive or otherwise frowned upon language with ‘kitten’.

Am I seeing things or is this some new meme or bug I am unaware of?
Kitten is the word the GW2 forum uses to replace profanity. (Try it and see! You can always re-edit your post to replace the word if you want to make sure not to get in trouble)
Or you can see it in humorous instances like when tries to type out the name of the author of the Elric of Melnibone/Stormbringer fantasy books, Michael Morkitten. Or the mediocre superhero movie by Will Smith titled “Hankitten”

Needless to say it has rapidly became a GW2 meme.

Oh I was wondering about that too. I thought it was just some weird lingo that transferred over from veteran players of GW1. Though kitten is kinda an odd word to use as slang xD

I believe there was a moderator post where they explained that they chose that word because it is impossible to see ‘kitten’ in that context without smiling.

Well its strange because i have seen at least two instances where the word wasnt in the original post, but was in the quoted post
