No there is not any strictly defensive gear.
Defensive armour sets would be:
-Clerics (Heal>Pwr=Tgh)
-Apothecary (Heal>Con=Tgh)
-Shaman (Tgh>Heal=Con for sPvP, Heal>Vit=Con for PvE I believe)
-Soldiers (Pwr>Tgh=Vit)
-Wayfarer (MF>Tgh=Vit)
This prevents people from building their character without any offensive ability.
The Warrior health pool is already massive, you can easily drop it for other stats without much loss to your defensive ability.

the closest i’ve come is the parts of all of the karma armors that have +healing, they have some with toughness some with vitality. good mixture of both actually. If you do the cond thing with the armor build like “rune of the necromancer” you’d stack some more toughness makes you pretty defensive. Add a trait or two that takes off conds like crazy and you’re harder to kill by most.
Don’t go TOTALLY FULL defensive, it initally seems you’ll survive better but in reality you’ll drag the fight longer without really controlling aggro. In party also the other players will notice the difference of damage done (or NOT done) by you.
Even with a defensive build it’s always better to balance it adding a bit of power/precison, trust me, you will barely notice any drop in your defense.
Cleric ( Heal/Tough/Pow) with Knight (Tough/Pre/Pow) are nice stats for this with some minor piece (stat-wise) Berserker (Pow/Pre/Crit dam) or Soldier (Pow/Vit/Tough) due to having power as their main stat.
