My computer broke after I completed the HoT expansion and I’m able to play again. I’m at end game so I’m trying to max out my character and obviously money is an issue in completing this. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

Thanks for the fast reply. I remember farming the silverwaste but I didn’t think that it was still used, so thanks for that. Do people still go in groups around the map to find the chests? Also what is the “tp flipping game”. Thanks.

Any method where you buy items from the TP with bids, manipulate them or not, and then post them for sale at a price you would make a profit. By manipulate I mean salvaging, unbundling and crafting.

The best way is the way that is least annoying for what you want to get. Lots of gold from silverwastes but I hate it personally. For my play style a couple of world bosses that give good gold for time spent plus farming for mats I would need to pay for. I make enough to get what I want. If I “needed” to make huge amounts I would not enjoy the time I had to play the game frankly.

I think there is an honest debate on weather shovel trains vs event maps on SW are more efficient. Either way you go, make sure to open chest with a lev 45/55 alt. This will get you blues/greens in a level range that will be more profitable, than opening at 80. The other bag rewards do not vary bu level, so you still have the same chances for lev 80 exotics/pre’s and the various things besides gear you get when opening at 80.

If you do farm event maps make sure you invest spare crest in sandy gear bags to open at a lower level as well.

There’s a youtube series put out by Mikei the Mighty on all the different ways you can approach making gold. I suggest you watch some of those vids to figure out which means work best for you.

Also I heard someone say there is a better change for a pr cursor in silver waste. Is that true? If so what do you do to get it?

There is lots of MF if you do events, but basicly you are after champ bags and gear bags. The idea is to open them all on a level 45/55 salvage everything and the lowered tier items sell for more than the t5/t6 currently. Of course the increased amount of loot I guess could increase the chance of a precursor.

They say that because of the buff you get while in SW after doing events. its like 150% MF.

After a successful meta every player gets a buff to magic find, that and the fact that there are a -lot- of gear bags to get from events + bandit chests.

For me the easiest way to get gold is to do fractal dailies. I get around 14 gold everyday, and It has netted me my only three ascended armor chests. I even got my first one during that time everyone was complaining about fractals being nerfed and not giving out good rewards.

If you’re just starting out do the daily number if you can manage it and two fractals you haven’t completed for your core fractal achievements. I’m always on the lookout for numbers in missing in lfg. So I do the cookie cutter 77 Mossman swamp, 67 Mossman swamp, 56 Bloomhunger swamp, and I recommend trying to get to these levels as fast as possible, and being honest about your agony resistance. I was slightly lower then the required AR for 77, so I bought a defense potion each time just to make sure.

Then I do 40 molten boss, 32 Bloomhunger swamp, # daily number. 21 Mossman is more common then 32, but my personal preference is to face Bloomhunger with better rewards since it’s a higher level.

Then I finish strong with 10 molten boss, # daily number, 2 Bloomhunger swamp. If the daily number is 10 or 2 people usually do 5 the elemental core Sons of Snow lizard one. Also if the daily number is 40 or 32, 40 or 21, or 21 or 32 then do all of them 40, 32, 21. On another note I suggest doing the fractals in descending order and making that trend popular in lfg. It just makes finishing on a fractal like 2 really satisfying.

Random note don’t make an lfg that goes 77, 67, 56 then 40, #, 32, then 10, #, 2. Since it starts off with hard wisps it just makes half your party leave when one guy won’t stop trying to pick up wisps when he doesn’t know which trees to climb. It just attracted the wrong people, definitely stick with making a separate lfg for champ, veteran, and adept.

My last tip is to salvage the immense amount of ascended rings you’re going to get. You’re ultimately going to run out of storage for stabilizing matrices like I have, but then it’s like you payed everything forward and you’re getting pure profit buying keys with them. With the added benefit of having them if you ever need them. So ends my long spiel about mostly common knowledge.

TL,DR All of this requires Heart of Thorns and Tyria fractal masteries.

World bosses, silverwastes, HoT event maps, and even Dry Top are good farming locations. Sell the rares/exotics you get (unless you feel like gambling for globs of ecto), salvage everything else, and then sell the materials.

Key farming also used to be pretty popular, but I’m not sure how valid a method it is anymore. Haven’t heard anything recently.

Key farming is dead. They limited it to one key per week per account.

That’s not dead, just severely curtailed.

I found that farming the veteran karkas in Southsun Cove, and getting the karka shells was good. Especially since there were so many, and each karka shell sells for 8 silver.

back in the day dungeon runs were the thing, but they nerfed them for some dumb reason. you can still run paths and use your tokens to buy gear, which you then salvage for ectos mats and runes.

like others have mentioned, fractals.

heavy loot bag farming if you can get into a good team in wvw. there is a reward track now, if you open the wvw panel you should see the tab.

pvp has ok loot now, I would advise you actually try to win tho instead of farming.

silverwastes for pve event farm chain, I think this was nerfed tho.

I used to farm karka, wasn’t the best but it was relaxing for some reason. I got about 80 shells/hour plus some t6 bloods and whatever ancient logs or orichalcum was on the map. oh and don’t forget passion flowers.

the auric basin multimapping is the newest one and ive heard its quite profitable. nevermind the mm was nerfed, it still gives good loot tho so finding a group that will complete the meta without fail could be a choice.

the living story new zones might offer something but I’m not in touch with that.

also you can turn karma into gold by doing this stuff. do some research.

used to be able to go to bloodtide coast and turn karma into gold by salvaging low level light armor equipment, altho I think this is vastly inferior to the one above.

with laurels you can by t6 material boxes from laurel merchants. might be a better way but that’s what I do lol.

find a website that tracks gatherables (like flax) and farm those on all of your toons.

if you like rng, you can promote low tier materials into higher ones via the mystic forge.

crafting can be good if you can get your hands on a good recipe and supply of materials.
