And I don’t care much for any upgrading now decided this is going to be a one time purchase maybe overclocked when it gets old and a little outdated and just salvage whats useful still I’m sure 600w would run this system correctly? If not I’m gonna be kinda mad keep doing stuff over and over xD

Mind you that minimum system power requirements are always on the very safe side. This because some bad psu producers will list peak wattage rather than sustained output.

There a benchmark for actual measured power usage from the net. So not including the loss of power in the psu. The actual power usage by the system is thus even lower.
Btw in those same benchmarks we can see the cards you mention indeed draw more power. So you’d need a 600 watt psu for those. But either way those cards are eol. So unless you can get a very good deal on them I wouldn’t get them.
Btw specs dictate a max usage off 300 watt for graphics cards. 75 watt through the pci-express slot, 150 watt for an 8 pin connector and 75 watt for a 6 pin connecter. Some cards will come with two 8 pin power connectors to facilitate overclocking. But that’s naturally off-spec.
In games graphics cards will also never be at 100% load, so you’ll always be slightly under the specified usage in practice.

@Waar – no its not, depending on the card the power requirements goes up. A 680/690 needs around 550W some even 600W, then there is 140-150W per motherboard+CPU, then the small amount of wattage per other card or device. All adds up doesn’t it :P
The cards can run on lesser wattage while in desktop mode, but if run it full pelt and you don’t have the required wattage available the card will lag, and eventually fail if run too long like that (long as in 6 months+).
This is not entirely accurate. The wattage in tests and reviews that you are seeing is being pulled from the wall. In other words, it is the cumulative wattage being used by all components. The 690 I can imagine using that much as it is 2 GPU’s if I am not mistaken. On top of that, the 600 series cards are notoriously power efficient. I agree. The 175W I mentioned was the GPU only Wattage being used at full load, not the system. The full load 350-400W is the entire system.
Anyway, getting higher than 500W PSU is always a smart move for future builds/upgrades. But it will not hurt anything if he got the 500W. (as long as it is a high quality one)
Dont wast your money on a i7, get a i5k and overclock it.
Get a gtx 670. I wouldnt settle for less then that if buying new.
its true… mmos do not utilize i7 capabilities, i5 will pretty much max it..

anything more and you will not see a difference noticeable to the eye.
Also, better to get a quality psu rather than a higher wattage psu. Not all are created equal. 750 is fantastic, unless you plan on crossfire/sli in which case you might wanna go 1000 to be safe. All psu will degrade wattage over time more than you would expect so do not go bare minimum.

No Idle is when the GPU isn’t in use, full load is when its fully used with all hardware features running, then it requires the more wattage.
Same with Motherboards+CPUs idle its around 45W, full load its 140W-ish.
Just wanted to put a plug in for a great graphics card I just bought for about $200 (Canadian) … Xfx 6950 with dual fans. Solo card with i7 system and 8 gigs ram runs consistently at about 102 fps at max settings, have even seen it hit 120fps at some points.
LOVE this card and it’s not over the top expensive. And better still keeps at about 45 degrees F after 9 hours of gameplay … Lol, yes I know I play too much.
