Guild Wars 2

Hello! I just started a new guild, and we’re currently on Ferguson’s Crossing, but I want to move us to a server that’s a bit better for WvW. I’m trying to decide between the following servers: Fort Aspenwood, Sea of Sorrows, and Stormbluff Isle. My questions are:
Are these servers as good for WvW as they seem like they are?
Are they just as good at PvE as other servers are?
Would I be accidentally wandering into an unofficial RP server if I moved to one of these?
Are any of these servers notoriously unfriendly or are any of them particularly popular for gold spammers (I haven’t seen many gold spammers on my current server at all, so I’m wondering where they all are)?

So basically I’m trying to gauge the public’s opinion on which server would be best for a relatively chill PvX guild that definitely wants to do a lot of PvE but doesn’t want to be stuck on a weak server when they choose to do WvW?

not that this has any bearing on how good they are, but aspenwood and sea of sorrows are both tier 2, but stormbluff is tier 4

(though they’re all quite a bit better than ferguson’s crossing!)

usually the bigger servers are the better wvw servers, so they’re likely to be better at pve (though less relevant with megaservers) and less likely to be rp servers because rp players don’t wvw and if they do are not good at it

I just moved to SoS from DB so I’ll tell you what I recommend.

If your guild is not highly into WvW, organized, or optimized for it, then you may have a bad time on SoS or FA, if you try to run as a guild. If you just want to help out the server commanders as a pug, you’ll be a bit better off, since that focuses on sieging and whatnot, instead of fighting other guild groups or pug groups, since the skill level for fight oriented WvW guilds is quite high on T2 servers, and you will see a fair amount of what we call “kitten -jaming” (basically getting involved in a fight between 2 guilds by going in from behind and basically wiping them and making it totally unbalanced).

In SBI on T4, things will be probably be considerably easier for you if your group’s skill level is low, but you may also find that pugs don’t care as much as they do on T2, so it will be harder to get involved if you just want to pug.

So basically T2 servers, have a mix of high quality siege content and fight oriented guilds, however the skill level and organization level required to succeed there is higher than other tiers.

You are aware all upgrades you have purchased so far will be lost…..right?

(well, not lost but unavailable to those not on the old server).
