Q:

Does GW2 have a feature like GW for ferrying players in a team from one location to another?
It was very helpful when you found an extremely hard area.

Sort of. You can use a ‘Teleport to a Friend’ to get somewhere you’ve not been before. A Class I or II Stabilizer can teleport you to some certain pre-determined locations. (There are some other devices that will ‘teleport’ you, as well, but the location may, or may not be, random.)

Good luck.

What extremely hard area are you trying to skip?

Thanks but that appears to be to a Party member in which case they would be in the same location.
I’m referring to jumping from one waypoint to another.
It looks like it isn’t possible.

You could ask your friend/party member to go to a waypoint you want and use the teleport to a friend to jump to them.

You don’t have to be in the same location to be in a Party. I’ve certainly used ‘Teleport to a Friend’ to enter a (new) map I’ve never been in before.

If you are in a team or squad and your mates aren’t in the same instance of the map you can right click on another party member and join them in the instance they are in. But cross zone then there’s “Teleport to a Friend” item.

Edit: their/there/they’re failure

I think this is what’s confusing people. There’s two things referred to as teleporting to a friend.

The first is the “Join in [map name]” option you get if you right-click someone’s portrait in the Party window – which enables you to move to their copy of the map. This one only works if you’re in the same place.

The other is the Teleport to Friend item which is pretty much the opposite – it moves you from whatever location in the game world you are to where your friend is. You could be in Divinity’s Reach and use it to instantly join someone in Orr.

But there isn’t really anything like ferrying in GW1 because maps aren’t restricted in the same way, you can go to any map at any time – the only thing stopping you is being too low level to survive. But on the other side armour and weapons have level requirements and the story is instanced and the instance entrances only appear when you complete the step before – so even if you can reach the right location early you can’t skip ahead.
