I’m just wondering if some kind player may answer a question I have:

If I buy the original game – prohecies(spelling); will I then recieve 3 HoM points by simply linking the accounts?

HoM is does not exist until the Eye of the North expansion, which is required to open the HoM.

Yes, linking a qualifying GW1 account to your GW2 account will grant 3 points.
Note: Only accounts with the Eye of the North expansion and who have unlocked the Hall of Monuments are eligible for rewards.

Prophecies, yes.

You’ll also need the expansion Eye of the North to make your account linkable , check the links StinVec posted.

You need to buy one original Guild Wars campaign (Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall) AND Eye of the North.

Without the expansion you can’t link your accounts and because it’s an expansion you need one campaign to be able to play it.

But these days you can usually buy them both bundled together, or even all 4 parts in one for about the same price as a normal game (or even less).
