Guild Wars 2

So I have 4 80s. A Mesmer, Thief, Engineer, and Guardian. I really want to stick with one as I am going broke trying to gear them all, and I really want that one to be my engineer as he was my first and I just really like the concept…problem is…I suck. So maybe you great ladies and gents of the forums can give me a hand, I’m looking for a solid build built around soloing, I can find all kinda for dungeon PvE, WvWvW, & PvP. All I am doing right now is exploration, achievements, the world boss circuit, and soloing story line stuff. So please oh please help me out with something that can help me not die 10+ times during this seasons story instances. Dual pistols would be great, would rather stay away form heavy kit use, and gear suggestions. Thank you all.

2) You can get exotic gear for free with dungeon tokens, and a tiny bit of gold with badges of honor.
3) In general if your an engi and don’t use Kits, your gonna get wrecked.

If you wanna play the engie and not die everytime you turn around then you gotta use kits. Using just pistols is like an only rifle wielding warrior or a longbow only ranger. It can be done, but it’s not playing to the profession’s strengths. And everyone will hate you in dungeons.

A great suggestion for inexpensive gear. Also, Karma gear. Just remember that you can’t salvage anything out of gear purchased this way (karma or wvw badges), so be careful what you put in it (runes).

I did not suggest Karma gear because the karma needed for karma gear is simply not worth it these days. Pre Karma over nerf i would have suggested it, but now that Karma is a scarce resource you are much better off running dungeons to get gold, and use the tokens to gear your toons. Also if your ever thinking about ascended gear or legendaries your gonna need a ton of Karma for Obsidian shards. WvW badges is by far the cheapest and least time consuming imo badges from EoTm train, and its like 60s-1g for a piece of armor.
