But then when I thought about it, i’m not sure if that stuff stays tied to your account. Good question. Might have to ask the people who have actually done this already

Even if you delete every character, your account is still attached to that parent server. Thus you will still have to pay. Therefor you shouldn’t delete all your characters…

Thanks but wont my parent server move if I delete and choose another server?
But you are you saying you already tried so, the answer to this question is I will lose everything if I delete the character and move to another server, correct?

I’m not sure if you lose everything if you delete all your characters. I know that all achievements are account based, but I’m not sure about dailys and items.

What I’m trying to tell you is that there is no need to delete your characters if you are going to pay to xfer to a diff server. Unless you plan on releveling the toons you have, you should just xfer the characters too so you wouldn’t have to worry about losing your laurels.

I’ve read other forum posts where people have said they were successful with deleting and transferring

You can delete all your characters and then transfer, but there is no reason to do so. If you keep them they’ll all move automatically. If you delete them you’ll still have to pay.

I don’t know if you lose laurels either. I wouldn’t have thought so since they’re account bound. I assume the same system that keeps your account tied to your home server even when you have no characters would also keep track of other account-based things like gems and laurels but I don’t plan to delete all my characters to find out.

Oh, well the thing is I saw a post from Dev stating that if you delete all of your character and Xfer, you don’t need 1800 gems.

That is why I am wondering.

But that was like 10 days ago, maybe that was a limited thing.

If you could link that post I would be very upset. I xfered to Crystal Desert with no characters because I was told the same thing. I still had to pay the gems.. and had no characters.

Haha!!! Well isn’t that a kick in the dick. I xfered about 3 weeks ago and this wasn’t available. Well then… Enlight of this new evidence… It seems that I am wrong. I know laurels are account bound, but not sure if they will stay if you delete your characters. I’m not at my computer right now and wont be for some time…. Are your laurels across all your characters or are they individual to each toon?

After I delete every character and transferred, My Laurel, Gem, and my Account Medal including sPvP Rank remained the same.

If you don’t mind making another 80 from a scratch and gather all the mats and all the Karma you need, this might be an option for you.

Thank you for the update Yuno. I’ve been posting the dev statement about free transfers for accounts without any characters but the extra info is very much needed. I’ll be posting a link to this thread quite a bit probably. Thanks again.

1. You will not lose stuff you already had unlocked
2. you will not transfer for free because you have already chosen server, whether or not you have any characters on it has no meaning

I would gamble that the answer is; yes, you keep all there is. Might be worth depositing everything of value

You might have wanted to check the links provided in this thread. According to Martin you CAN transfer for free as long as there are no characters on the account.

Nice catch! Seems I should take a bit of my own advice

Guild banks are purely server based anyway, you can’t access a bank (guild) from your original server while on your new server. Personal account banks are just that- account bound, so you’re safe to put things in there.

I wonder if you ever had a lvl 80 character… yes you get scaled and all but a lvl 1 character is still not anywhere near as strong as a lvl 80

it’s 1800 to highest populated servers, 1000 for mid and 500 for low

I have done this today, deleted my characters to move to Seafarer Rest. I haven’t lost anything except what I had in my inventories, everything else got saved: Laurels, gold, bank, materials, professions.

Deleted all my char, including a lv 80.
Moved from US to EU.
Free.
Don’t remember Laurels or stuff.
Still had dungeon tokens.

Just trasferred to Gandara,for free,after deleting all my characters. You don’t loose karma,badge,laurel,money. Sorry for my poor English.
