I want to craft Mawdrey so I was going through this guide: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Fey_Zeal/Mawdrey_Guide but I have problem with special items for Tier 2.

Namely:

As these are rewards for Living World chapters which are currently locked. For itemes in Tier 1 it is possible to buy them for Laurels in Dry Top oasis.

Is this intended? Or am I missing the vendor for these somewhere?

My theory would be that these would be available after a few more episodes, similar to the Mordrem part extractors.

You need to unlock the living story in which is needed to get those rewards. 200 gems = 30 gold. 60 gold needed for the minimum gem purchase of 400 gems. Not too bad if you apply yourself.

The new story is also better than the normal campaign if that helps.

There is no minimum gem purchase. You can specify whatever amount you want.

Thanks! I keep forgetting that was changed.

You also get 400 gems for every 5,000 AP as well a total of 51g along the way after the first 5,000(the first 5,000 only gives 29g). That would be enough to unlock 3 episodes.

I’m 99% sure that to purchase them with Laurels you need to have completed the Living Story once, but check out the vendor yourself to be 100% sure.

If he doesn’t have them, you’ll have to purchase the story and play through it. Feel free to leave feedback to whether you could or could not buy the items from the vendor for future reference!

You can repeat the episode on either the same or different character. Both will get you the items for making Mawdrey.

I’m 99% sure that to purchase them with Laurels you need to have completed the Living Story once, but check out the vendor yourself to be 100% sure.

The tier 1 items are available without doing the story(might still require unlocking the episode).

The tier 2 items are not available even with the story completed.
Same goes for tier 3.
