Hey!

I’m new and I am looking for a nice class! I know that each class can be good, but i like to play a class, which is able to do that:

  • The class should be ranged
  • It shoule be good in PvP and WvW
  • Nice Playstyle
  • I like to support and deal dmg, no tanks!

Can someone tell me which class would be good for me? Thx

Necromancers are the current kings of PvP and WvW. So check them out. This may change in September (after Pax).

Spirit rangers are also very strong in PvP but I don’t know about WvW.

Anything I post is just the opinion of a very vocal minority of 1.

Also Hammer Warriors or Mace/shield warriors are played (too) much.

Gandara [EU] – Old & returning player

And What’s with Elementalist?

After playing around with all classes I settled on elementalist. Kind of a steep learning curve. But I loved every single second on my way to level 80. And I play a medium ranged ele with a tanky build. Pure awesomeness. Now im leveling a warrior. Not a bad learning curve, im am playing a ranged warrior with longbow and I have a GS incase things get hairy. Having a lot of fun. Next is a staff necro, although im not a huge fan of aoe’s

Necros are tanky casters that typically damage over time with conditions. Eles are squishy and versatile, capable of high burst.

Both can be played supportive. Necro relies mainly on slot skills and staff for support and it a bit more offensive in its application. Elementalist switches to water attunement for support, then to another attunement for damage and tank.

So if you want more simultaneously dpsing tanking and supporting, then necro. If you want to switch between different “modes” that specialize in dps (fire/air) support (water) tank (earth), then ele.
