Q:
Quick Question about transmuting Legendaries
A:
No one knows for sure because it hasn’t happened yet.
I know if you transmute a precursor it can’t be used to create the legendary any more. My thinking is it should be the same with transmuting legendaries because transmuting creates a brand new item.
But on the other hand so many people have transmuted legendaries just assuming they will still be upgraded, that I can imagine there will be a lot of complaining if it doesn’t work that way so Anet might find a way to do it just to avoid the grief.
Although that’s assuming they can. I’m not sure how it works on a coding level – it’s possible there is absolutely no way to tell which weapons have a legendary skin once the stats are gone.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
It is NO garantue that it will be this way, but the Triforge pendant has a ascended version now. The Triforge pendant itself is rather difficult to make. but when you have it you only have to throw it in the forge with 1 ecto, 1 mystic coin, and 1 factal relic to make it ascended. This MIGHT be an indication how they are going to do it with the legendary weapon. If you are worried bout this, then you really shouldn’t transmutate it at all.
