Hey all!

I’m currently stuck on 175 / 178 Krytan Explorer.

I’ve got absolutely no solution to finishing this other than to mindlessly walk around.
What areas count towards it?
Is there a way to check what is left undiscovered?

I have completed the map 100% and am still missing a few areas of each bigger area.

Same here, 100% world completion.

However, that leaves me with quite a few areas to explore.
Figured I’d start with kryta.

Im stuck on it too.
The thing i noticed is that you need to get every single area name on a map.

I have a really hard time finding those.

Someone got any tips?

Oh I have no idea how to solve your problem but I can say it is very similar to trying to get 100% map completion in GW1. OMG that was a pain. Of course it is all the much sweeter once you do finally finish it.

From what I can tell, pretty much all the maps are quite rectangular in shape. So if you look at your map and see that somewhere there is something like a corner missing, go there and see if you can fill that space. Also, look at this map, if it helps. BTW, do you have all the POI’s, etc., discovered in Kryta?

Yea it was hard, i think i was spoiled too much with texmod.

Tried to discover area’s yesterday for hours. But i only discovered one.

What im thinking is: maybe there are underwater contents that dont have a poi.

Also the map isnt really working since i got 100% on all maps. I need to find a map with the names of the areas on it.

I’ve gotten up to 175/178, anyone know of any areas hard to spot? My most recent and hardest discoveries were the Beggar’s Burrow in Queensdale and Provernic Crypt in Gendarran.

Well, I’m just going through all the maps.

On the wiki it says ’’Swashbuckler’s Cave’’ is a location.
I’m not too sure if that means it should show up on your map as such, but it’s not doing so for me :O

I used the wiki map and have every white named place. I then did swashbucklers cave and didnt get another zone.

I didn’t get an other area from it either, which makes me suspect there’s a bug involved somewhere, as I’m stuck on 175/178 too, as well as a lot of other people.

do dungeons count as areas? I’ve yet to do them and I too am stuck at 175. I don’t really want to run around aimlessly to find out I alread had 100% except the dungeons ;-)

Can you please post your other areas? I think I heard a lot of people being stuck at 175/178 Kryta. I have Orr 60/65. Don’t know about the other 3, have to login and check later and I still need to finish Ascalon. But still missing a few in Shiverpeaks and the Maaguma when I have completed all maps there.

We need somehow to make a thread where someone starts and others post IF they have higher somewhere OR same. Then we can see if someone has higher… or if a lot are stuck at always the same values… then maybe a bug. Can’t believe that no one discovered it completely.

Underwater… maybe. If it really goes down deep and no other stuff nearby that would have made you go there earlier.

Is it possible or not possible for those missing areas to be undiscovered jumping puzzles? Basically I’m wondering 2 things:

1. If the posters here who miss some areas did not do all jumping puzzles.
2. If the jumping puzzles indeed count, did the GW2 community find them all? I did not check to see if the list on Wiki contains all the puzzles found in the achievements tab.

I did one and checked already. The jumping puzzle itself does not count as discovery of a new area. But some could itself be located in a well hidden area you never visited before. But I think I did almost all in Kryta(according to wiki). Less then 3 left to do and still missing 3 areas to disvover. If it is not a really big jumping puzzle covering more than 3 areas… and I think I already have been a bit into the other jumping puzzles but killed there. So should have discovered there a bit already(if not a disvovery of new area is at the very end of the puzzle).

I’m pretty sure jumping puzzles don’t count. I did most of them in Kryta and still am at 175/180, just like many other people.

As for other areas – I’m in a similar situation regarding every other area. Every single one needs just a few more zones to be completed.

As far as I’ve come to decipering what those areas are – look at your map and you’ll see named areas, like Eda’s farm. Those areas are the things you need to discover to reveal the map and, as far as I know, they’re the only things that count towards this achievement.

No, it doesn’t count. No “fully explored” map I’ve ever seen had that covered. Every map that isn’t adjacent to an other map has these patches you can’t uncover, I suspect – for a good reason.

Sorry but that map really don’t help anyone as they have not actually put in fully explored maps, and also do not include uncovered area names, places like Malchors fingers don’t even show on those maps cause they cut it out, and other places it shows as if you’ve explored places that can’t be explored.

Dungeons do not count, Anet confirmed that in another thread about 100% map completion. What counts are WvW maps, all explorable areas and cities, dungeons in any modes do not count towards the achievements.

ive got 175/178 as well. ive been looking for the past 2 day everywhere and i just seem to find the last 3 its really starting to bug me

I did every jumping puzzle in Kryta, double-checked with the wiki and some of the interactive maps out there, including ones that only show possible exploration, completed all the explorables (hearts, vistas, PoIs, etc.), yet I’m still at 175/178. I think it’s safe to assume that the whole thing is bugged and call in dev support.

Either there’s 3 areas under construction, or the thing is bugged. I have 175/178 too. And I literally licked the walls and turned every stone.

Any chance the areas you find in the CM dungeon both story mode and explorable mode a part of this?

I have done that to see if it works and it didn’t for me. Was at 171/178 before trying and was still 171/178 afterwords. However, in a different post some people said they had more areas discovered after they did some of the story quests. It could be that even though most of us have 100% in each zone for Kryta the story quests might take us to a place that you can’t get to by running around on the map.

Yes, I´ve done all jumping puzzles.
I´m still stuck on the same amount.
Yes, there are areas there that count towards exploring.

No, dungeon explorations do not count.

same here, stuck on 175/178, and there are some areas that shows as explored on guildhead map but that I couldn’t reach in game (like the north east corner of Sparkfly Fen)

They now fixed this, 175 is now the max amount. It was always the max available to find, seems they just miscalculated it.

Alright then, after the latest patch, Krytan Explorer was indeed fixed, as well as Orr and Ascalon. However I’m still missing some patches in Maguuma (162/165) and Shiverpeaks (170/172). I see eekzie is at the same spot as me on Shiverpeaks, anyone else stuck on the same values?

Update: Found “Aurora’s Remains” in Brisban Wildlands – Maguuma (163/165).
Update: Found “Cubular Fells”, a well-hidden area, in Mount Maelstrom – Maguuma (164/165).
Update: Found “Doldenvan Passage” in Wayfarer Foothills – Shiverpeaks (171/172).

I would like to get this achievement too (Krytan 174/175, In Orr I’m missing one, Shiverpeaks 168/172, and I think another 2), but I’m so broke I can’t even move now.

Try Beggar’s burrow, east along Divinity’s Reach’s wall from the Village of Shaemoor, if that’s not it, try Provernic Crypt in Gendarran Fields, west from the Proven Shore waypoint.

Same problem here im missing one thing in Kryta (174/175) so much people are stucked on this count there must be an very hard to reach zone when you play norma. The two sections from VakarisJ are cheked and i have them. Any other Ideas ?

If you have Kryta complete in the collectibles (hearts, PoIs, etc.) department, then those are the only two areas which you should’ve missed. I suggest you do as I do – open up the GW2 wiki, check locations in a map and look which of them do you have discovered, ones missing are either a wiki error or you haven’t found them.

Hmmm are you serios that every location for the achievement is located as a white name on the map ? I mean that are 175 Location if they are displayed the map would be completely white. (sorry for my bad englich im from germany)

EDIT: I got it. YAY. It was “Windloss Delves” in Queensdale.

Actually, yes. Every place is marked in white, but the farther you zoom out the less it becomes visible. In the closest zoom you can see names clearly, after 2-3 steps back you don’t see the names anymore.

I also have 174/175 on the Krytan Explorer..

I completed all five maps 100% (Gendarran, Queensdale, Kessex, Harathi, Bloodtide), in fact I have completed everything from all the maps. I’ve also completed my personal story. I triple checked one by one ALL the locations from GW2Wiki. I’ve got them all. I also have the 2 tricky locations (Beggar’s & Provernic). Still I have 174/175… Whyyy??

Are there any other tricky locations or ones that GW2Wiki does not include?

They should really put a list with the number of areas on the map… At least we would know which is the map missing the area… aaarg >:(((

Actually, I see no “Windloss Delves” on my Queensdale map.

AH. I found out which one I was missing. It’s the Chantry of Secrets completion in Bloodtide Coast. I went in once but never went all the way inside for the POI

After 2 days of running around all over the map i’m still stuck at 174/175. Can some 1 who completed help me out pls i’m getting insane here. I tried everything, all the spots listed here, all the spots on the wiki maps, i just cant see what i’m missing.

So pls can some 1 post a list of realy hard to find spots for this achiv.

I’m missing an area there as well, at 171/172 though. Also need 1 more in Magumma.

My latest find in Shiverpeaks was Doldenvan Pass, just east of Hangrammar Climb skillpoint in Wayfarer Foothills.

Also, the wiki incorrectly states that Veins of the Dragon is a place in Timberline Falls, when it’s actually a place in Hoelbrack. That might be something to cling to – maybe something else is supposed to be in place of that name?

Done, finally. It was south of serpent thing, there’s was another coil and it unlocked. Apparently I need to run all the istances for the Been there, done that achievement

When folks who say that they have completed “all the locations on the wiki” — do you mean that you completed the main line bullet areas, or sub bullet items as well.

I’m stuck at 171/175, and yet I have the zones themselves at 100% completion, and I have all identifiable areas from the zones in VakarisJ’s post. These also match what’s on the wiki except for say — in Lion’s Arch, there is no labeled area for The Bilge, yet it is on the wiki. I do however vaguely remember getting some text on the screen the first time I went in there to grab a pet.

I did a name count for the labeled areas on the map and unless I’m off for Lion’s Arch and Divinity’s Reach (which I could be) it’s 165; so 10 explorable areas not identified on the maps? If so, what are these areas. If not, why do I have 21 areas in Divinity’s Reach and 14 in Lion’s Arch. (And the same as listed in the post above for the other areas…) And still not have this silly thing completed for Kryta…

Ah well. Wasted half the day on this. At least I got some jumping puzzles done.

Just counted the areas I’ve listed – 130. I guess that’s the majority, but that raises the question: where are the other 45?

Oh good, VakarisJ — I’m not insane (well at least I mean it in that I can still do arithmetic).

If there ARE 21 in DR and 14 in LA, then there are 10 “missing,” eg, not on the map. And four of those are eluding me.

And that’s where I need help — hence, those that “followed the wiki” — if I’ve got map completion nailed, and if my maps LOOK discovered (eg, map completion and all the names are there), do I go back to the wiki, and go down the list and run around (which will really annoy the crud out of me), to find four things I missed?

Do you have to go in the instances to get some kind of credit? — That would go against the ‘nothing needed out of the instances’ POI/Heart/etc-wise, but do the insides count as “areas”?

I’m at a loss.

I do have a few “fuzzy” color blobs on my map, but they match up what I see on almost all images of the game maps on the net. Only a few maps show these filled in and for all I know they could be beta images, or people used exploits to fill them in (eg, Queensdale there are two color blobs either side of Beggar’s Burrow, between GY area and the East dam. Or the far far west end of thekittenwest of Eda’s farm, does that get filled in? I haven’t found a way to run the west dam no matter how many times I’ve tried. I just can’t imagine the missing areas being things like this.
