Guild Wars 2

I don’t know much about the classes in Guildwars 2. I started playing at release but stopped to play another well known popular mmo – Well know, I’m back, but I don’t know what class I should play.

I want a class thats pretty simple to master and doesn’t have any crazy mechanics such as the elementalist. I do however like the idea of a magic based class but only if It has a bit of survivability to it.

Saying that however, on the complete opposite end of the spectrum I do enjoy melee classes aswell, such as warriors and gaurdians I suppose.

I was thinking about warrior, apparently thats easy to play. But I was also liking the look of a mesmer but apparently that class isn’t very good early on but is really good later in the game? Is that true?

Mesmers are good in sPvP but weak in PvE. Try a fewclasses, you can also just level to 2 and go to the Mists and try out a level 80 version in the training area against golems and practice bosses.

the magic classes are not that great in PVE here sadly

so yea nor rely great atm

i hope GW2 wil give them ad PVE alot more dps that wil help alot in the world of gw2
but in pvp there very good its funny how strong you are there compare to pve

You guys clearly haven’t had good experiences with casters in PvE. We’ve got a couple of amazing ones in my guild; an ele who is almost unkill able and a mesmer who deals almost as much DPS as anybody else (albeit in round about ways). It all just depends on your build and how much to care to practice with them.

Necromancer has been VERY fun for me – I never die in PvE or dungeon parties, but PvP/Wv leaves me almost useless.

The Necro class is rather versatile in that you have minions, spells, and traditional melee attacks (dagger/focus) that are all fairly powerful in any PvE situation – you can pick & choose the playstyle you are most comfortable with.

The second life bar/Death Shroud can help clear an entire room if you have strong minions and good traits set up, and I hear Lich Form can do some pretty awesome things in solo situations.

It might be worth trying Necro since it gives you the freedom to move between melee and magic at your leisure.
