So I was playing my warrior in WvW, doing a jumping puzzle. Couple of my friends, two strangers and I ran into an elementalist – she killed all of us by herself! I knew right then that I needed to make an ele for WvW. But I’m stuck on the build…
She was able to take a healthy amount of damage – and though it has been a while, I do remember her healing quite a bit. This on top of spanking out a decent amount of damage left and right. At some point she conjured the greatsword and just went to town. I’ve never seen so many people die so quickly.
My thoughts would be that this character is 30/30/10/0/0. But she wasn’t quite a glass cannon. So perhaps 30/20/0/20/0? I was kicking out decent dmg, but I think she just had a hefty amount of vitality, I dunno.
But my question is this – how to I replicate such power!? I want to kick out quite a bit of dmg, but also be able to handle several people at once. I heard D/D is a good dmg based weapon combo. Staff is of course great AoE. Not sure which one to go with.
I looked online and someone had a 30/20/0/10/10 setup for D/D. Someone else had a 0/10/0/30/30 for D/D and Staff. I’m testing out the second setup – I have a ton more health, but I’m definitely no tank and my “heal on cast” doesn’t do much. Thinking it doesn’t go well with staff. I’m sure I’d be spanking out quite a bit of dmg with the first one. Perhaps that’s more my speed that I’m looking for? I want to be able to handle myself in WvW – that’s the main thing. What do you suggest?
I’m curious as to why people don’t do Earth build. You’d think that toughness and condition dmg bonus would couple well with fire traits. Since fire is condition dmg?
What I know is that the basic attacks with the conjured sword did a hefty amount of dmg. It wasn’t so much the burning. So her power must’ve been up the roof.
