“Transmuting weapons now preserves the higher rarity of the two items.”

Just a couple of questions here about this bit from the 1/28 patch notes.

1. Say I transmute green stats into an exotic skin. I assume it keeps the exotic rarity, but also the green stats?

2. Say I transmute Cleric’s stats onto Sunrise. It remains Legendary but gets the Cleric’s stats? Does it keep the same name of “Sunrise” or is it weird…like “Sunrise of Energy?”

Just transmuted my Bolt…. following this in the patch notes…

Now on linking the item in chat… rather than just “Bolt” in purple I get “Bolt of Air” in orange… I’m rather unhappy about this, I submited a CS request and will post back what they have to say. I just wanted to give others a warning befor they had the same problem.

Well, that’s fairly misleading.

Yea, needless to say Im extremly unhappy about this:(

So as a warning don’t transmute Legendaries. Same as before. Good to know.

Can’t tell if it’s just the link or the item… When moused over it’s still purple… It just gains the “of sigil” and the link becomes orange:/ Really wishing for an official response as the patch notes are extreamly missleading, and impact something I put a ton of time into:(

Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team. I’m sorry to hear that happened, we did test this out just to make sure but we were unable to replicate the issue you are having. Did you transmute it before the patch? If so, we don’t have a way to re-transmute the weapon back to it’s original state. I am sorry but we do not have the tools to do this. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

I transmuted it AFTER the patch, I hadnt seen any of the prepatch transmutations, but did those show a legendary purple item with a gold link when moused over?

Unfortunately our game tools are very primitive right now so we’re unable to check the recent account activity to confirm what you’re reporting. The problem is that even if we could verify what you’re seeing we would still be unable to reimburse the in-game items due to these technical limitations.

I’m sorry that there’s not more that we can do in this case. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

I do something based on news THEY provide, and now Im told theres nothing that can be done.

I respond saying I did it after the patch… and Im still SOL. Seriously MASSIVE kittenING FAIL A-NET.

^ Ah that explains it. But if you tried to link your dreamer in chatbox, would it be shown as orange, or violet?

Caldeum’s dreamer looks to be doing what my bolt is doing, I bet it’s orange if he chat links it…

I don’t think you’ll be getting the upgrade to ascended tier.

If I don’t I will be so mad… I waited till it said it WOULD work today after the patch and did mine… Still doesnt work, and A-nets saying sorry your KoL (Kitten outa luck). Im hopeing we get an official response to this.

We are very sorry to hear you have been running into this display problem with your legendary. There is indeed an issue with this right now, and our development team has been working on the issue. They should hopefully have a fix out for it soon. We don’t have a specific ETA just yet for you, but we do hope to see the fix out before too much longer. Once the fix is in place we should post an update on our wiki update page at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates. So I would keep an eye on that page so you can know as soon as everything is ready. Again we apologize that you ran into this issue at all, and we thank you for your patience while our team works on getting it fixed.
