cannot dodge even though I am not controlled
I’ve noticed that dodges can be a little funky myself. Sometimes my character does the roll in place, and other times he’ll just stutter-step without actually dodging. Seems to happen most often in combat as I have no problems performing a dodge while exploring.
Dodge roll “randomly” fails. The dodge is getting interrupted by certain autoattacks.
To avoid this, you can try to make sure you stop autoattacking before executing the dodge. For example, fighting a giant (where it’s imperative to dodge all the stomps), I’ll turn around to stop the autoattack before each dodge.
No, a dodge will always take precedence over any skill you are performing. If you are in the middle of a skill animation you will interrupt the skill to do your dodge if you try to dodge before the animation ends.
If you are crippled dodge rolls will have a vastly shorter range of movement (so will any skill that has a movement aspect to it). If you are not CC’ed and you are still experiencing dodge quirks you may be experiencing connection lag.

That’s not true. See the linked thread. It’s a bug I’ve been tracking for months.
Hmmm….I’ve never had any of the issues described. Perhaps using ctrl+mouse2 to turn off any autoattacks you have on would be a place to start (since I don’t run that) other than that….I can’t think what I would be running differently.
I have had it where id dodge but don’t go anywhere, come to find out i was rooted
