major warrior and berserker rework:

- max adrenaline increase from 30 to 100
(this will allow adrenal health to benefit from level 3 healing more often)
(allow the warrior to use burst skills more often)

- max adrenaline is removed while warrior enters berserk mode. warrior’s max adrenaline is NOT set to 10 while in berserk mode.
(this will allow warrior to use burst skill more often while in berserk mode)

- adrenaline decays 1 adrenaline per second when not in combat
(this will allow warrior to carry some adrenaline into the next battle)

- trying to activate recharging skills will burn adrenaline to reduce remaining recharge time and suffer fatigue, fatigue reduces maximum adrenaline.
(say if endure pain has 30 seconds recharge time remaining and warrior has 80 adrenaline, attempting to use endure pain will burn away 30 adrenaline to remove the 30 seconds charge time)
(weapon swap, burst skills, weapon skills, utility skills, elite skill all can be burned. however if warrior burn 100 adrenaline then the warrior will be not able to use burst skills in combat for quite some time)

- warrior only burn half adrenaline in berserk mode, for example, attempting to use endure pain when it has 30 seconds remaining, in berserk mode, will only burn 15 adrenaline instead of 30 seconds.
(warriors in berserk mode will be able to burn adrenal more often)

- fatigue decreases by 1 per second while in combat and 10 per second while not in combat. imagine elementalist’s exhaustion from guild wars 1.
(if warrior burned away 30 adrenaline to activate endure pain while it still has 30 seconds recharge time, maximum adrenaline will be reduced to 70 due to fatigue)

- in berserk mode, fatigue decreases by 2 per second while in combat and 20 per second while not in combat.
(warrior in berserk mode will recover from fatigue much faster)

could these drastic changes may actually make warrior viable again?

discuss!

sounds interesting. Warrior def needs rework on Adrenaline. ANET went overboard with the Adrenaline decay. I know it was silly before when you could carry full adrenaline for ages between fights but the “fix” anet put in was way too hard. 1 decay/Sec would be a good start.

I like the concept of burning adrenaline to reduce CD which you have tempered by proposing a fatigue so the warrior needs to priotize which skills he wants to burn down. Not just any skill.

Your typical average gamer -
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "

aye, thanks for the feedback!

i know this will not be implemented, but it would be nice to hear some feedback from fellow warrior players.

who knows, perhaps they might take this idea and spin it into a new elite spec in the future.

The main problem with the OPness of the old Hambow warrior was that the warrior was able to carry it’s adrenaline from battle to battle, fighting at close and then activating a powerfull F1 skill at mid, coming from another battle.
That was “fixed” making the warrior lose all the adrenaline in few seconds while out of combat, making it unable to carry adrenalin fight by fight on purpose. That also match the “Theme” of the Adrenaline.
I totally don’t agree.

And about the 10 adrenaline in Berserker mode… That MAKE the Berserker able to active the F1 ability at it’s maximum power very often, exactly why you need only 10 adrenaline points to active it instead of 30. While in Berserker you can simply swap weapon, land a hit and you’re already at 10 points, ready to land your other F1 skill.
You can active your F1 skill every 5 seconds without any problem.

And with increasing adrenaline to 30 you mean that the F1 ability will still consume only 30 points, maximum? Or that you need to consume all that 100 points to active a full powered skill?
In the first case you make adrenaline really OP, like a Tempest that can active the Overcharge 3 times without cooldown or a necromancer with 3 times the LF he can charge. You will be able to constantly active your skills at max power and effects, making your F1 skill OP.
In the second one you make it really really week.

The think about consume adrenaline to reduce cooldown can be good, but there’s already Alacrity from Chronomancer that make you able to spam your skills. With alacrity and adrenaline consume you’ll able to really spam all your skills all the time.
is a good idea but only if you don’t insert it in a team good fight situation.
But the Fatigue is not a bad idea.
That can be not a instant effect to recharge your skills but a “long time” effect. While in fight, while you have adrenaline, you can set a single skill and reduce it’s recharge by 1-2 sec every sec spending X adrenaline points and obtaining Y Fatigue points.

But that will also make you unable to land your best attacks, making the warrior dps even lower than before.
A too much complicate thing to be implemented in the main system of the warrior.
But can be added with a well studied Specializzation.

Really nice IMO ~

As a player gives:
- tons of freedom to adapt to situations
- clear penalties for abusing said freedoms

Just like life!
“Yes I said you could have ice cream if you wanted, but I coulda’ told you four pints would get you sick!”

From a dev standpoint it seems nice as well, what with all the places to tweak the numbers and such.

Well played!

You do know that all burst skills while in berserk mode already count as lvl 3 adrenaline right?

2nd one of course, i dun propose week stuff for warrior. :p

yes, of course i know that.
however, with this, warrior is able to keep on using primal burst because he will never run out of adrenaline and not limited by stupid 10 max adrenaline.

primal burst on 2 seconds recharge time? just burn some adrenal to use it again!

At this point, something this nuts sounds necessary for warrior, but I can’t help but ask if this means you can basically just ignore your burst skills and spam EP or bulls rush endlessly.

to be honest, adrenaline is the warrior’s last problem… i’m actualy having no problems at all in building adrenaline.
Lack of decent active healings capacity and lack of condi counter is much more important to fix.

yes, i read, and thats the way to make warrior OP, like making him getting a chance to get 3 endure pain in a row, for a total of 15 seconds of invulnerability.
You are not fixing warrior’s problems, you are just making him OP.
What i would do? enter in combat, use TO THE LIMIT, outrage and headbut, activating endure pain and berserker stance, now i have enough adrenaline to go free attacks to get more adrenaline, and use it to activate endure pain and berserker stance again, and repeat.

fatigue

But, lets assume you just want to tank and are using GS, for instance, and don’t really need to use your adrenaline skill. Doesnt that mean you could chain EP/bullsrushes at least twice or three times back to back before you’re entirely fatigued? Considering 100b’s short CD, if you bait dodges with something like hammer (or even yolorifle), you could just repeatedly smash bulls rush > 100b until it finally connects while throwing in your second weapon’s CC to burn even more utilities.

Don’t misunderstand, even if this would be the reality of your suggestion, I still wouldnt be against it considering all of the insanity running around.
