Absolutely Sick of Idle/DCed Players
You crossed their names out in the center…but left them in the lower left.
I thought you don’t lose a pip if the match ends with 4v5 or less. I swear it was like this for me when I did ranked back in the start of September.
You shouldn’t have lost a pip if a player left the game.
I agree on every point. People will have connection issues at time. You can’t prevent that but you can at least prevent the other players from losing a pip.
However, nothing frustrates me more than people that intentionally idle or quit. I was playing unranked last night and we got Capricorn. One guy on my team wanted the coliseum so he threw a temper tantrum and typed afk. He then sat at the spawn point the whole match. I understand it’s unranked but I don’t like being in a match and wasting my time because other people pout like that. He even gloated in chat that reporting someone does nothing. I honestly think that behavior warrants a 1 week dishonor. Stiffer penalties are needed for players who are obviously idling.

You have to question if Anet even cares about S4, they introduced a new PvE area. They introduced a new PvP map during the season and before the season which people are now working towards both.
Anet basically threw in the flag for S4
I occasionally have unexpected network issues, and am forced a DC. However, I always try frantically to come back every time.
If the people you are talking about are coming back to the match, and not just straight out ditching it, is it still being done on purpose?

Odds are at this point in the season, yes.
-hey I’m gonna lose a pip either way
-lemme screw over other people while I’m at it
I routinely have people DC, come back, say stuff about screwing over the team, DC’ing again, and coming back right at the end (usually at the 10 minute mark +/1 5 seconds) so they’re never offline more than 120 seconds and kitten-talking the whole way.
I have rarely encountered people on my team from the same guild as the 4 or 5 man premade I’m facing that do this as a way to “game the system” and guarantee their guildies’ team a win, though that seemed to stop happening about mid-way through Ruby.
Would be nice to see some statistics on how many idle reports there has been so far and how many of them got punished.
They need to do something to change how DC’d players affect your pips, ive had people be DC’d for more then half the match and STILL lose a pip and winstreak bonus, with them being DC’d for far over 3 minutes. It’s a pretty trash system currently.

But what I’m saying is: why come back? Why not wait till it’s over?
