I’ve just given up on winning matches at this point. I haven’t won a single match in a week, nor been in any position to win one. I just line up to get my three participation trophies and then I’m done for the night. Fun.
Very many people are in the exact same situation. And the exact opposite too. One of my friends can’t stop winning haha. I hate him now -__-
I was holding 20% win ratio during the entire week. However, yesterday I reached division 4 and now I got 7 wins in a row (theoretically it should be harder matches).
It just shows what I was saying: the cause of defeats were not me alone, but the mmr system that was acting very strange earlier.
They need to stop messing around behind the scenes and pick something that sticks – I’m fed up of 3yrs of poxy matchmaking always being adjusted and we are still no closer to decent match ups/closer fights on average or loss streak breakers(where the system just fudged up your MMR and puts you on the loosing side for the next 30 matches or so). Taking a break (>36hrs) so decay kicks in is not viable,
Something screwy went on last week – went from t0 diamond -t7 (over 3-4 days) now heading straight down back to t0 (mostly in a single day!). The net effect is Friday something changed again – God knows what but something changed.
Being placed in guaranteed loss teams for over 30 matches – something is wrong.

This is the single best statement ever written in the PvP forums! It should be permanently fixed to the top of the site.
Just had the misfortune of playing with Constantin on Stronghold. He purposefully threw the game while insulting the team the entire time. So I can firmly say it is definitely user side and not server side, why ANet tolerates players like this is beyond me.
I have been playing this weekend and since Friday my win ratio raised to +-80%. It is more strange that now I am playing in higher division and matches should be harder.
As I stated before, my win ratio during the entire week (20%) was very strange and not related to my skill. I am an average player, not so bad to hold 20% and not so good to keep 80% (not in division I was). This mmr is playing with us.
Ok, so a couple weeks back, I was playing Dragon Hunter, got to Sapphire, and had a recent w/l ratio of around 5-1. Then I tried Necro, ran about 12-14 matches, don’t believe that I won a single one of them. Then I tried a Ranger tonight, 2-1, not terrible. Note that these are both classes that I’d never run in Ranked before, and hadn’t done much with even in Unranked before this.
Now, either I’m a bomb-kitten DH and a really good Ranger right out the gate, while being such a suicidally toxic Necro that I actually make the entire rest of my team into idiots, or there is something going on with the matchmaking that tends to group weaker players on one team and stronger players on the other, again and again. I highly doubt that I’m such an invaluable linchpin that I can carry me teams to victory every time I’m not playing a Necro, nor do I blame the classes themselves for the outcomes.

Here I have some stats.. how on earth am I meant to expect close matches even get a sensible MMR / Match — from 100 matches:

No Unbalanced 31 (200 points difference in end score – after normalising max scores to 500).
No Semi-Balanced: 30 (100-200 points difference in end score — still not that close)
No Close (Balanced): 39
That’s a 39% RATIO of Matches which either team had even a hope in hell of winning.
These stats are god-kitten awful anet – your matchmaking is not working properly to give close fun matches.
So I have 31 badly balanced games / 100 … So that’s 69 games which resulted in a close score – e.g. the matchmaking got two teams with close end results and paired two similarly matched teams together.
So to put this into context:
