If the game had been managed by a company who didn’t despise pvp then nobody would have left. What happened in gw1 was systematic dumbing down and neglect which happened to a game which was otherwise an accidental masterpiece.

There’s 5 or 6 years worth of examples I could give, but I don’t need to preach to the proverbial choir or try to explain the beauty of the game to a nerf herder like you.

clearly their derision for spvp is reflected in the fact that they spent months and months creating both world vs world and spvp world. yes, indeed. Those meshes, textures, maps, custom ai, and spvp/wvw exclusive structures and maps were created not because they wished for gw2 to have a very prolific player vs player option but because they had a distate for it.

I’m still having fun in sPVP and same with tPVP.
Yes, it can be better and likely will be changes to follow.

If you take a step back and look at the broad view, we as end-users are pretty demanding; wanting everything and need instant gratification.

However, I also do PVE content and WvW. A little of everything GW2 offers.

though i play sPvP daily (normal 8 vs 8 via server browser not hot join) just to complete the sPvP dailies.

at the start of each month i play sPvP tourney until i won 3/3 tourney matches and then stick back to 3 sPvP matches per day.

do PvE and WvW as well too.

sPvP is awesome in GW2. The depth of combat and the wide variety of effective strategies is just mind boggling. Anet did an excellent job managing to add such a high skill cap to gw2. I only want the fiery dragon sword to be fixed in the next patch. Apart from that gw2 is the best game I have ever played from a PvP perspective.

No, it isn’t. Apart from raw game variety, GW2 lacks the deepness GW1 had in PvP. Yes, PvE is way better in GW2 but PvP? Seriously?
It is all based on a game mode which was removed from the original game because it was too stupid. How can it be better?

Everybody at work is looking at me at the moment because i rofld so hard.
GW2’s PvP is better then GW1. HA was/is the best game-mode ever seen. GvG allways gave a special feeling (at least to me). The feeling that there was real competition, fighting other guilds daily to gain that rating/QP. The weekly PvP quests that could give massive rewards for winning streaks. There is not a single game ever made that was as balanced and fun to play as GW1’s HA/GvG.

ehh I like it a lot too. I even main warrior. Maybe something’s wrong with me. Just being able to switch pvp classes, builds, and gear at will, with no true gear grind gets huge points in my book.
